I think I had heard that Plueger quit building NHRA cars before the Chassis rule change?

I'm pretty sure you are correct, as I recall, Force has been trying to get him to build some new chassis for the team for the last few years and SP wants nothing to do with it.

Steve used to build Force's cars before the team expanded, plus he built cars for a select few (Densham and Dunn). He also built my first TA/FC in 1990.

When Force expanded he wanted Plueger to supply all the frames for all his teams. Plueger declined because it would have meant he would have to hire a staff of fabricators and he doesn't do employees very well. Coil wanted all the cars to be the same so Force went to McKinney.

When the heat treated cars started falling apart, Force reaquired one of his old but unused Plueger frames from Todd Payton and that was the car Robert Hight drove after the Medlen accident.

Up until the chassis rule change Plueger had two cars near completion on the jig. Both, as I said in an earlier post, are or will become nostalgia FC's. One was possibly going to John Lombardo, Jr. as a TA/FC before John bought Ron Meers operation.

Plueger has a chassis on the jig right now that only needs the cage mounted and I am sure if Steve opted to jump back in and build funny cars chassis' for Force he'd surely purchase them. But like Randy stated Steve cannot produce the needed amount that JFR needs on a yearly basis..

When you buy a chassis for Plueger you can be sure he and Paul did ALL the work themselves unlike the chassis builder in INDIANA..

sean, "wicked quick" is his own company. that means it came out of HIS pocket. also the Jimmy Johnson foundation was a freebie so that came out of his pocket. don't you think wrap and uniform money could have paid payroll.

I guess I must've slipped under a rock for a bit, 'cause I didn't know that. If that's the case, then I would have to agree with you, Bruce. I get the fact that if nothing else is coming in that he should promote his own business the best he can, but probably not to the tune that these wild body-wraps cost.

With Tony selling his wicked quick t shirts for a minimum of 45 bucks, business must be slow...

Alright, Bruce............you tryin' to make me look bad, or what?! LMAO!!! :D

I got some inside information tonight that Wicked Quick isn't actually Tony's company. If that's true, then two things are certaiN. One; maybe I actually didn't slip under a rock, and B; We're being a little hard on T-Ped here.

If my source is correct, the actual owner of the company's initials are in fact T.P., but not Tony Pedregon...............

No offense, Bruce. Just stirrin' 'er up a little. ;)

Neither Dunn nor Densham are running a Plueger car.

Since the chassis rules change Steve Plueger has built zero big show cars and has a very strong opinion about them. He had a couple chassis on the jigs just as the change happened (Dunn and Densham's) and both became nostalgia cars.

Since Plueger has better things to do, Densham's current car was built by Grant Downing at Worsham Racing.

My bad Randy...I knew he had been working on those chassis' for Gary and Jim, but I thought they had been completed for the big show...I must have looked the other way when Steve turned them into Nostalgia chassis'. I live about a mile from Steve and have been wanting to stop by and see what he is currently working on these days.....:D

Exactly what I was thinking. If you remember, it was about this time last year when rumors started circulating about AJ leaving DSR and starting a new team for next year. Timing is about right to give Dickie enough time to start up a Force fueler for next year.

Force will never put one of his girls in a AA Fuel dragster....

I could hit a golf ball with a 3 wood and hit Steve's house/shop from where I grew up in the 1960's off Toerge Drive. The prevous owner's had Peacocks and a pond out front that was rumored to have alligators in it.

You can learn a lot as a kid from say, 150 yards eh Randy?;)

I hit a sand wedge that far. Ask Stith.:D Did I ever tell the story about the Kalitta Air "Closest to the Pin" award I won at the 2007 Eric Medlen Golf Tourney at Mountain View, Number 9, 173 yards, 8 iron, Tim Wilkerson is my witness...naw.

Steve moved there about 8-10 years ago. Before that he was in Artesia.

I guess you shouldn't be judged by my standards of self.:D
Sounds like Butch Leal doesn't want to see you (and your prodigous length).

Steve has a great lay out, but if you didn't know the area, you'd never find him back there...lol
