Exactly what I was thinking. If you remember, it was about this time last year when rumors started circulating about AJ leaving DSR and starting a new team for next year. Timing is about right to give Dickie enough time to start up a Force fueler for next year.

'Cept there's no funding and likely won't be for at least another year or two. Belts are being tightened.

my question is ...If you can't afford someone on the payroll, how much did you pay for the wrap and uniforms for your own " wicked quick" stuff. i like tony ped, but isn't that classified spending in the wrong place?

You guys seem to have forgotten that JFR has another championship winning crew chief - trouble is he's driving not tuning !

Mark.

Plueger isn't building DSR's chassis and it hasn't hurt them or anyone else who doesn't use them.

They have struggled ever since going to their 3 rail chassis design...and if Plueger would build them cars I am sure they would not be hurting like they are....IMO

Steve Plueger has ZERO interest in building big show chassis again, he only builds ones for his own use in the Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car class and was runner-up with Bucky Austin at the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals in Boise.

Tony has been around while...good tuner, doesn't get a lot of recognition. Was with Dexter Tuttle's team and recently he was tuning for another team and I just went blank on who it was....too tired to recall....lol

He assisted on Cory Macs team with Wes Cerny. Maybe clutch specialist or something, but he was with them I think prior to Tuttle.

Really, I've seen like 4 different bodies on the T. Ped car this year! How much do you reccon those cost??

He was Wes` assistant on the Fram car and then took over as crew chief when Cerny was let go. Shortall was also his assistant when Wes was calling the shots on Cruzs car several years ago. I`ve known Tony awhile and he`s a good guy. I wish him luck, I like the Pedregons!

I might be wrong, but I think you will find that most sponsorship agreements include the cost of the promotional details, like paint, body wraps, etc..

sean, "wicked quick" is his own company. that means it came out of HIS pocket. also the Jimmy Johnson foundation was a freebie so that came out of his pocket. don't you think wrap and uniform money could have paid payroll.

Regardless of how you feel about the Pedregons you have to give them respect for beating up on mega car teams that employ upwards to 30 or more people.

Tony left Castrol/JFR and secured a rival oil company and does very well with 1/4 of the support.
I root for them every run and keep my fingers crossed they continue to tear up the teams that have 15-30 million dollars to sponsor their mega-camps.

I have always rooted for the underfunded teams...

Just my $.02

and Jim Dunn and Denshams stuff....let's not forget that.....

Neither Dunn nor Densham are running a Plueger car.

Since the chassis rules change Steve Plueger has built zero big show cars and has a very strong opinion about them. He had a couple chassis on the jigs just as the change happened (Dunn and Densham's) and both became nostalgia cars.

Since Plueger has better things to do, Densham's current car was built by Grant Downing at Worsham Racing.

Absolutely correct, Randy.

I think I had heard that Plueger quit building NHRA cars before the Chassis rule change? Sounded like he was getting burned out on the deal...
