Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

Did Quaker State reduce their funding or what? I don't recall seeing anything about them reducing funding to Tony.

Dickie to JFR?, I would bet on it as well. He has experience running John's stuff and is just as good as any crew chief there now. 3 of their cars could use some help and when someone like Dickie becomes available, I would be all over that if I were the owner.

Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

He may end up back there. But replace one of the current crew chiefs, no way!!!!!!!

The last time I checked Austin and Bernie are no spring chickens. This might give JFR an opportunity to secure a great crew chief and allow some of his older crew chiefs an opportunity to retire and enjoy the next stage of their life. Never say "no way", because you might end up looking like a fool in the end.

Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

i hate to see this happening to TP - really admire the guy for going
on his own in the midst of his former success @ JFR.
that really take cajones.

when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

# 1 in the points and lets his CC go and have a new CC under Rahn # 10 in point? Something isn't right! It doesn't add up

I think it adds up to one less hurdle for Wilkerson to jump to get the title he truly deserves!

the money is whats not adding up.... autozone must give cruz the funding a team really needs or somewhat close to it....but in regards to tonys car it was getting pretty obvious the money wasnt there from Q as he has had a differetn wrap on the car everyweek

I Agree. :(

Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

I could see if they were not doing well. But Tony and Dickie were in the fray seems like every week. I understand it's a funding issue..just didn't expect this one.

Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

Do you guys think that when John Force was flapping about it's got to turn around in the next few races that he may have had the advanced inside track that something was going to happen at Tony P racing, the timing seemed right that these issues came up so close together?

I doubt that Force would consider it a plus for him that another team might deteriorate because of the loss of their crew chief.

I helped a guy a few years ago (nameless) that used to say "There are 21 cars here this weekend!"

My response to him was "No, there's one car here this weekend....YOURS. We have no control over the other twenty."

Looking for others to suddenly struggle rather than looking for your own team to pick up the pace is thinking with your dipstick.

I don't see Dickie going to JFR..seems like it would be overkill..IMO. Well, let me rephrase that...I hope he doesn't go to JFR.

Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

Its to bad for T.P. really Like the Pedregons! My prediction,Dickie goes somewhere in DSR!

Re: Dickie Venables and Kurt Elliot Leave Tony P

If you read it, it said TP asked Dickie to cut Kurt loose due to lack of funds. Sounds like Dickie stood up to something he believed in and decided that if Kurt goes, so do I.

Wrong store. Advance Auto Parts. I don't get this move this late in the season unless it's all about money. Good luck to all involved.

You owe me a keyboard for that last remark

Another example of big name sponsors don't exactly mean big bucks? Sorry to see this happen but it looks like the direction the sport is taking, South.
