Dave Densmore

What do the Schumachers have to do with this? I am pretty sure we can point to almost any pro trailer and find family members on the payroll.

Well, because it is obvious, according to your post, only JFR gives family more than the "help". Right?

I am simply pointing out the absurdity of your statement.

That's the impression I got from his Linked-In page.

Dave Densmore's contract with John Force Racing was not renewed after the 2013 season. (I don't know why.) He did not retire, though. He worked for several clients in 2014, most notably Torrence Racing (where he replaced my father, Joe Sherk, who did retire at the end of 2013). When I saw Dave last month he said he intends to work for a couple more years.

Nope. This thread is specifically about JFR and no one else as it pertains to the family at JFR getting "big bucks" in the OP's estimation and the perception it could create. Nice attempt at a strawman argument though.

FOR THE LAST TIME, here is the Cliff's notes version because you guys either A) have a reading comprehension problem or B) are just dying to read something into my thoughts/posts that isn't there. So I will make it simple:

John Force has a lot of family on the payroll. I am OK with it and would do the same thing.
To the JFR haters, which I am not, it could be perceived that John isn't "loyal" to long time employees and the family continues to cash big checks.
I do not agree with that assessment but I can see how that perception is arrived at (family in management positions, family only in the racecars)
This thread is specifically about JFR and no other team since it is only JFR that is being discussed.

And for the record Chris, I don’t have an issue with your position.

However, I speculate quite the opposite. Family/employees at JFR receive a small salary (and a low tax burden) while receiving the luxury of corporate write-offs like travel expenses and vehicle leasing as a cost of doing business (a perk). Additionally, Robert and the girls can generate extra income for themselves doing personal appearances. That’s something that crew members cannot get. It is work nevertheless.

Secondly, why would they leave? They’re not going to get a better deal anywhere else.

And for the record, I am not a JFR fan (not really a fan of modern day drag racing either for that matter), but I do admire Mr. Force for where he came from and what he has accomplished for over three decades now.

Last time I looked, if your name hangs over the front door, I believe that gives you the right (within legal parameters of course) to hire, fire, and pay pretty much as you wish. And the last time I looked, I believe it still says John Force Racing. And unless the company is a publicly traded operation (which it is not), it is really none of any of our business who is being paid what. And I would imagine if your last name is Force, or you are married to someone who used to have the last name of Force, you will probably be among the last to leave the payroll. Just my two cents worth.

I agree with this sentiment, and I would absolutely do the same thing if it were my company.

I understand everything that has been said but over the last few years two KEY employees and several important and valuable employees left because their pay was cut and or paychecks were late in arriving while family employees were building new houses with 7+ digit costs and new cars with 6 digit costs and their pay was arriving on time and in full amount. That's John's right because the name of the company is John Force racing but he has many unhappy employees because of it. Let me also be very clear about the fact that I am a John Force fan and I respect what he accomplished and where he started from

I thought he left well over a year ago and thought he retired, I was kind of thrown back by this thread. Since Mark has the inside scoop at JFR I thought I must have assumed wrong. Who knows....

In my original post, I stated Dave ended his affiliation with JFR in mid-December. That info came via email from Dave, himself.

Can I respectfully ask what business is it of ours what JFR pays their employees or how and is it our business what he pays his family. How many people on here want to post their bank accounts, what they earn or their 1040 information? I'm getting bored with people hijacking threads and bashing people! We aren't in grammar school so grow up! If you want to be a team owner and tell people what to do buy a team. It's not that easy to run a fuel team, make payroll and pay your own bills been there done that when it wasn't as hard as it is today. Instead of bashing JFR or DSR AJR be thankful they provide you the opportunity to watch them attempt to make a living doing what they love and you wish you could do. Go ahead bitch me out for this post but until you've been in their shoes (no pun intended) you don't have a clue what it takes.

Having worked for both corporations and privately owned businesses, I've come to realize the owners can do whatever they please (as long as it is legal). Afterall, they pay me, and in return, I produce work for them. It goes both ways, if they're unhappy with me, they can let me go (so far that hasn't happened), and if I'm not happy with them, I can vote with my feet and go elsewhere (which I have done). We will never know all of the details, nor should we. But I am willing to bet it is a combination of both scenarios.
