August 24, 2006 (Norwalk, OH) - Pro Mod favorite Danny Rowe is hoping to advance in IHRA E-Max Drag Racing Series / Torco Race Fuel Pro Modified class points during the Skull Shine World Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. Rowe, who is only 60 points behind leader Glenn Kerunsky, has proved to the world he is out for a World Championship.
With the points battle tight, Rowe is certainly hopeful for a big win. "We are very motivated about the success we have had this year," said Rowe. "The fact that we are we No. 2 in the points is very exciting, but we have to continue to be consistent. This weekend is going to be tough, but the fields all have been tough this season. It is amazing to me the how many quality teams and cars there are. I love Pro Mods, and to be in the staging lanes with some of the best cars in the country really motivates me. With that said, we would love to win Norwalk. I know the history speaks for itself, and a win here would be a huge for the whole team."
Despite Rowe being a relatively new team owner, he is very familiar with what it takes to win and win big. According to Rowe, "When I started to put a team together for this season I wanted the best equipment and people I could get my hands on. My goal was always to be a competitive team and thanks to Jimmy Rector and the rest of the crew we constantly have a great car every race weekend. I have the attitude that if your not moving forward, you are moving back. I work hard on trying to be a better driver and team owner. Hopefully with hard work and a little luck we can be a championship contender."
Danny Rowe and team would like to thank Gainsborough Capitol, NGK Sparkplugs, Hoosier Tires, Redline Oil, and Weld Racing for their continued support.
The next IHRA E-Max Drag Racing Series race is 11th Annual Amalie Oil North American Nationals New England Dragway, Epping, NH Sep. 8-10, 2006.
