Dan Fletcher

I was hanging around the Winner's Circle in Pomona and joked with Dan that he should pay me to attend races because it seems like he wins every event I am at, and seems to have a shot to double up at many of them. As I had just introduced myself and he had no idea who I was, he probably thought I was crazy LOL.
 
Dan is always humble. Dan lives near me, his dad and mine raced at the same local tracks during the same era, Hard to believe he is now only the 3rd racer in history to hit 100 wins. Congrats Dan!!
 
He had a column in National Dragster some years ago. It was always a good read, but I always thought he was a bit too hard on himself.
 
There is a common trait among the truly great. That trait is they hate losing more than they love winning. The losses stick with them much, much longer than the wins.
 
I understand that. I do. But even when he won, he'd write things like "I won the race in spite of my best effort to give it away..."
 
After his Super Stock win in Denver:

53 Wins in Super Stock (Class Leader)
27 Wins in Stock (Class Leader)
16 Wins in COMP (Tied for 3rd) Only David Rampy and David Nickens have more
2 Wins in Super Gas
2 Wins in Super Street
1 Win in Super Comp
