George and Willy gave advice on how to drive our car when it was ready, Willy told me if I wanted to be a successful Altered driver and win races I would need to keep winging the motor and keep fuel pressure up if I got upside down because if didn’t hit the guard rail or cross the centerline you could still stab it across finish line first because the other guy will probably be out of shape too, I was sitting on the tailgate of Willys Chevy truck with Willy on one side and George ( the Stone Age man ) on the other, I looked at George and all he said was, he’s not kidding, advice I never forgotPhoto shows a straight pass for Willy. heh
Look at the Mooneyes decal on the wing. It's looking in the same direction as Wild Willie is.Photo shows a straight pass for Willy. heh
How cool is that, thanks for the heads upLook at the Mooneyes decal on the wing. It's looking in the same direction as Wild Willie is.
He raced Willy in the trap in the final that night, priceless memoryGeorge The Stone Age Man once drove the Rat Trap at San Fernando. I have a photo of him racing Larry Dixon SR in the Fireside Inn AA/MFR in a T/F race. If you could run 7.99 or quicker, that put you in T/F. Barry Kaplan in JR/F beating the Snake, when Snake got sideways. Oh yeah.....
