Is it my imagination or is Fox Sports showing a lot more commercials than ESPN2 did? I swear they must have shown that Garbage Time commercial about 50 times. I was ready to throw something at my TV.

I don't know but I will say your American Tv does go overboard with the commercials.

I watched the racing on a local New Zealand channel today as part of a weekend motorsports show we have down here. Bugga all adds.

I read somewhere that in the US the broadcast and non-premium cable channels have to break for commercials every 10 minutes. Maybe that's why?

I believe that is "can" not "have to".

On average there is 17 minutes of commercials per hour, 30 second commercials are on the way out, and replaced with 15 second commercials. In 2009 the average was 14 minutes of commercials per hour.
