So who is Wilkerson in this scenario? And for BCS and NHRA Countdown perspectives I guess you'd have to make a pick 4 weeks ago.

Doe's Wilk's season relate to Alabama? Looking good going down the final stretch with the lead, only to not come out on top when he/they had their chance head to head.

I dunno?

So.........are there any BOLD PREDICTIONS?? Just wondering how long it will seem before they actually play the game?

I'm predicting the the newly-reborn Huskers will beat Clemson--what's everyone else think? As for the Florida-OU game--(take note here Mr. Burgess) I have to agree with Mr. Cerberus--Oklahoma is just too much for Tebow AND the Gators--my prediction--It will go kinda like the Bama game--close for a quarter or two and then the Sooners will roll..I'm expecting a blowout in the second half.

The Huskers definitely have a winner in Bo Pellini(sp?)!! As for the OU/FU game, I(we) Oklahomans have come to the time that the actions on the field will have to speak for themselves..............(USC, LSU, Boise State, WVU ) :)

thanks, Mel. Although we are not Big 12 South caliber yet, I saw some definite and encouraging improvement in the last 4 games especially. I do believe we are on the way back to restore the PROPER Big 12 order with OU, UT, and NU leading the way. Kansas and Mizzou have had their day in the sun (my apologies, Mr. Mopar), but with all the Boone Pickens money available, I do think OSU will continue to be a bigger force to be reconned with. But Mel, I have no doubt that OU will not only win, but dominate Florida--but it should be a fun game to watch! Wouldn't it be cool if they didn't decide the Heisman until after the bowl games? Two leading Heisman candidates head to head for the National Championship! Wow, can you imagine the hype for the game if that would have come to pass?

If Oklahoma were to beat Florida that would mean one thing: That contract that Big 12 Defenses signed at the beginning of the year to not tackle anyone within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage would have to be void.

Seriously, Did the Big 12 defenses get paid not to tackle this year.

Oklahoma's downward spiral in Bowl Games of late is concerning. And if you're a betting man this is a tough bet. You have to figure Oklahoma will shrug of the New Years Curse at some point. But, you don't want to bet against the streak.

Terry I can tell you right now you can beat Clemson. I saw them in person Nov 22 at Scott Stadium and yes they beat us. But can the momentum built by Dabo make it through the long layoff?

Thanks for the encouraging thoughts on the Clemson game, Steve. I hope we can pull it out and carry the momentum into next season--and I have a hard time arguing with your observations on the Big 12 Defenses--lots of points scored...but of course we of the Big 12 see that as superior offense rather than suspect defense!:D Go Huskers!

Thanks a bunch, Steve! We of the corn field appreciate all the support we can get! By the way, looking at some of those names brought back some old memories of my college days. I was a student at NU for the 1971 Nat championship team, and my roommate was a third string kicker. (that was back in the days when you occasionally saw a football player among the general student populace) Anyway, I bought one of those red and white footballs at the Nebraska Book Store and had my roommate get me into the inner sanctum after practice one day. Got autographs of all offensive and defensive starters and all of the coaching staff including Bob Devaney and then assistant coach Tom Osborne. Gave it to my dad as a present. Got it back after my dad passed away. Wonder if it's worth anything today??
Again, thanks for the support--I love your score prediction!

If we keep losing players we may have to send the Norman High School team.

Just a little plug here for Husker Volleyball (Maybe Tim is listening, I know he sometimes follows the Horns volleyball) Huskers are facing undefeated #1 ranked Penn State in the semifinals of the NCAA tourney. Gonna be tough, but the Husker Volleyball team (unlike our football team recently) has a tradition of playing their best against the best opponents.
In the other semi final game we have the Texas 'Horns team against Stanford. The Horns have an OUTSTANDING hitter named Destinee Hooker. Really fun to watch.
If you haven't ever checked out College Women's Volleyball before, give either game a tryout tonight. It's a fast-paced, violent, truly exciting game to watch! REALLY!!!:p

I'm here Terry!!! My Longhorn volleyball team is also in the semis and I cant remember who we are playing! I would be great to see Texas-Nebraska play each other...we have gone back and forth over the past few years with Nebraska getting the edge.

Well Tim, both Big 12 teams got beat last night, but both were terrific games--Texas gave Stanford all they could handle, and the Huskers managed to do something no one else did all season--they beat Penn State in a set. It was a really good game--The Huskers didn't play well the first two sets, but managed to come back and win the next two sets to go into the fifth set. We had them on the ropes, but had a few bad passes and Penn State went on to win the 5th set. Great game though--and the Huskers and Horns have nothing to be ashamed of. Great seasons for both teams.
Food for thought---College Volleyball uses a playoff system and when the NCAA tourney got down to the final four it was #1 Penn State vs #4 NU, and #2 Stanford vs #3 Texas--not bad to have the top four rated teams end up in the final four--they must be doing something right. By the way, Tim, I'm bettin' on Penn State--I never saw a team put so many balls on the floor against us before....

You have to love it......A big hitter from Texas named "Hooker"
Thanks, Mel! I always thought that but never said it! And she can jump! She's a world class high jumper (NCAA champ) and I saw a slow motion last night where at the height of her jump her waist was even with the top of the net. (Not sure, but I think the official height of a volleyball net is about 7'3") and they had radar on the spikes last night and one she put down was clocked at 62 mph!
