I'm not a fan of 4 wide racing (ask me anytime, I'll tell you), but being able to see 3.71-3.72-3.73 at the same time was impressive, to say the least. Seems like the starting line was a tad loose, or the ETs would probably have been out of sight.

The track was a little slick for the funny cars once they got off the concrete, thus the speeds were down. Beckman had 1/8 mile numbers good enough for 3.98 in semis and 3.96 in the final.
