yeah, 428 cars listed for 4 day event. that's about right. ida and shawn are listed with different sponsors.
perhaps they'll have both cars running? keep an eye on royce freeman in comp (richard's brother) pretty sure
richard mentioned royce's engine is configured very close to, or the same as the new PS rules for next year.

what is this 'ford racing exhibition' deal happening 3x (fri. thru sun.) at zmax? along with the 'street outlaws' debut
what i'm reading and seeing on the schedule, the sportsman classes will qualify thursday afternoon from noon till whenever.
starting thursday at noon? who picked noon? and supposedly the track will not be open to the public on thursday?
then only scheduled for 1 round on friday. good grief, the bread and butter of nat. events treated poorly as usual.

THERE'S BEEN A CORRECTION ..... only 4 reasons for this race (directly from nhra.com)
1) it's the only 4 wide race of the year
2) nhra's 75th anniversary
3)access galore
4)right trailers outlaw street debut
evidently the ford exhibition race must have been the all important 5th best reason to not miss this race.
as the sportsman racers sit around all day friday. some probably will want to lose in E1 so they can go home.
notice sportsman quotas are not full for this race. good grief, the on-track time that is wasted.
if the multi-colored bleachers are full, i'll eat my words.

It’s the all-new ELECTRIC Cobra Jet 2200. Everybody is going to flock to the stands to watch it (surely won’t HEAR it).

it was at a race or two last year. i remember seeing it in a video. mite have been on one of ken miele's videos.
oh it looks like the one this weekend is a revised, more HP version of this 1800

Not this one. It’s brand new. 3rd electric Cobra Jet they have built.

The old one was limited to 7.50’s and was overweight. This one is good to at least 6.50 (not sure which chassis spec it was built to exactly), and is lighter.

the company's founder has ties to jean paul dejoria via a similar company, and an austin, texas based AI consortium.
her firesuit for this weekend is black and white. just like bandero color scheme this year.

Weather forecasts further away than 24 hours are of course always tricky, but all looks OK as of now. Rain is expected late Saturday evening through very early Sunday morning. Attached is a DA/Temp forecast for today. The DA numbers keep changing a couple of feet every 20 minutes or so but you get the general idea.

from my experience it has good and bad sides. the sounds are awesome but when 4 fuel cars leave the starting line and 1 smokes the tires or has something happen our brain automatically focuses on that one. by the time you look down track the run is over and you are trying to figure who won and who ran what.

Good for you, I hope you have a great time. The facility is very nice. I remember my first time there, when the first set of TF launched (was on Sunday), it was a true sonic experience. We were about 10 rows up at the 60-foot mark.

It does require a different kind of attention. Watch the timing towers for they will show a light of what two lanes "won".

No matter how it shakes out, I'm sure you'll be glad you did it, if only because now you'll know. Be safe and have a good time and take it all in!

witnessed it last year for the first time. Even when they all run straight through, because of how wide it is, the sound was only about 15% louder than normal, not double. Was a very disappointing experience. I won't go back.

I hope you have a great time. I know the 4-wides are not everyone's cup of tea but I still believe everyone should see it once in person. It is a unique sight to behold.
