It takes two hands to drive . The headsets are a compromise. AFAIC you shouldn't be able to talk on a phone at all legally, while driving.

I can always tell when some moron is on the phone. They react very slowly to the green light. They accellerate so slowly you can hardly call it that.
they drive 10mph below the speed limit.

They have to slow to a crawl taking corners, because it's pretty tough turning that wheel with one hand.

They are a PAIN IN THE ASS.

And they are oblivious to all of the above. This describes my experience behind one self-absorbed idiot just yesterday.

who cares if your battery wears out faster, I hope it wears out before I get anywhere near you.

And you can tell when they hang up.....cause they pass you like a bat outta hell:D

Sorry Alan, but in a case like that it should NOT be their choice. Do you know how many motorcyclists die in accidents in FL that otherwise would have been survivable if they wore - say it with me now - a helmet?

Sam,
We have a saying, the difference between a helmet and no helmet is an open or closed casket. It's my flipping choice, not yours.

Like mandating Knee pads and Helmets on skateboards and bicycles...

Stop trying to protect me from me... it ain't governments job... funny, I've survived over fifty years by thinking, not by some federal mandate...

oh, yeah, I don't answer my cell phone when I driving or doing anything else... I don't need to talk to the caller, they want to talk to me, so I'll call them back when I'm damn good and ready... and the last time I had blue tooth was from eating blackberry pie.

While that is somewhat true....here in PA, I don't want to have to "pay" for those that don't think their melon is worth protecting.

Q&As: Motorcycle helmet use laws

Many don't carry enough insurance to cover a major head injury, IF they survive the initial impact.
Just my 2 cents here and again, it all comes down to common sense. :o

Sorry,
No Heroic measures in case of injury... again my choice, no one else's...

Cheryl,

My insurance has a 10K maximum medical payments. 10K! That's probably not even a day's worth of coverage. My dad 'qaulified' for 15K in medical payments, because his motorcycle is bigger and he's been riding for longer.

I've always worn a helmet when riding on the street. The exception to that being when I have to move my bike from parking lot to parking lot, in which case, I usually ride on the sidewalk. :p

Unfortunately the helmet doesn't protect you from idiot drivers. The drivers who don't look for motorcycles or think that they can pull out in front of motorcycles, or the ones that think that motorcycles shouldn't be on the road.

I've had a driver tell me that if I'm 'stupid' enough to ride, I'd deserve what I got in an accident.

Ignorance plus 4 wheels doesn't protect you from much.
