Until the 2005 models came out the factory exhaust sounded like crap.

It's pretty common knowledge that Loud pipes save lives! They may not see you, but they can Damn sure hear you!

Used to see a lot of trucks with the bumper sticker "Straight Pipes Save Lives!" Quite a few trucks still get away with it. I had it on my Kenworth when the engine was still nice and tight and it was unreal with the Jake on. Used to do it in shops! I heard a 600 Cat in a shop that someone had just put the pipes on! When they revved it up and let up, it would compare to standing next to a fueler.
