Cagnazzi PS 2011/DSR 4th FC? (2 Viewers)

1. With Jeg (and presumably Jeg's money) gone, what's going to happen with the Cagnazzi PS team next year?

2. Seem to remember some mention of a 4th DSR F/C for 2011 - any news?

Let's move on to some more speculation! -

Seem to remember that Johnny Gray was speculated to be that 4th DSR FC. No news that I have seen yet confirming that yet, but Don himself has said there will be 4 FC's in his camp next year. Can't seem to think of anyone else who it would be other than Johnny.

Chris - I find it hard to believe that Johnny would walk away from the SKI P/S after putting so much time and money into the team. Of course, Shane has proven himself to be very capable and Johnny can certainly afford to do whatever he wants. I believe Johnny has previously driven a F/C for Shoe (the #31 with Wonder Wagon livery).

An interesting sidebar to this is the apparent agreement by SKI's sponsor (Tire Kingdom, et. al.) to sponsor Graham Rahal in the rumored Gannassi/Snake Racing Indycar team. This was originally posted by Robin Miller of Speed (not DRO!) so it could actually be true. Complicated, ain't it?

Chris - I find it hard to believe that Johnny would walk away from the SKI P/S after putting so much time and money into the team. Of course, Shane has proven himself to be very capable and Johnny can certainly afford to do whatever he wants. This would seem to confirm the two car team. Whether it will be a collaboration between Pistonator and Cagnazzi remains to be seen, but it would seem to be an effective use of some big capabilities and resources.

I wonder if Cagnazzi's experiment with trying to get sponsorship for Connolly caused Jeggie to quit? Could it be possible that Connolly got the #1 motor and Jeggie got next best? All engines are not created equal,right? Just sayin.

Funny thing is, Johnny could probably buy the tire company several times over... Not to often the driver is worth more then the sponsor itself. If Johnny wants to race a funny car, he'll race a funny car.

Does Dave Connolly play a role in Victor's plans for 2011? I sure hope so...he really makes the class better. "The Punk" can flat out drive!

Can't seem to think of anyone else who it would be other than Johnny.

I can make a list:

1. Johnny Gray
2. TOMMY JOHNSON JR.
3. Whit Bazemore (maybe a reach, but he wants back out and maybe it's the deal he wants.)
4. Tony Pedregon (again a reach, but he would love to race without the worry of $$)
5. Gary Scelzi (hat-trick on the reach, but maybe he wants back in)
6. Gary Densham (maybe he wants one last big push at nitro fc)
7. Jeff Diehl (He's proven his abilities, would be nice to see him really contend, plus a beautiful backup wife)
8. Cory Mac (maybe he'll pull a 360 since shoe still has him on the team and put him in the fc)

that's my silly season.

but really, who's gonna be tuning these cars, only beckman and hagan are figured out, i like to see lee beard jump back into the tuning, tho he admitted it changed since he left the tuning.

I also remember Johnny saying that his wife made him get put of the funny car seat.

You may be on to something. When Jeggie was driving a Dodge Pro Stocker for Bob Glidden and DSR, his father (Jeg, Sr.) made it known that his son should have already had a car to win. He said so in an interview during race coverage on ESPN. He also made reference to moving away from DSR if Glidden couldn't give him a car capable of winning. Ironically, Jeggie won with his DSR Dodge at the end of his final season in that car.

Very interesting...but seriously...cagnazzi's only sponsor was jegs, he has nothing established alone? The power they know how to make alone should of had companies banging on the door to sponsor. What about connolly? I thought that Makita deal was for more that 1 race.
