I think most of the fans were standing along the fence by our trailer where the BIG screen was at. The fans here sure like their drag racing. I will give them credit they sure toughed out a weather screwed weekend. It was either miserably hot and humid or raining. I'm glad to put this one behind me.

And that is the reason the crowd was thin. People don't want to sit out in the sun and cook for 5+ hours. It is the reason they run the August NASCAR race at Bristol on Saturday night ... they know they will sell WAY more tickets. Move some of these Summer races to Saturday night races and they will sell more tickets, I am positive they would at Bristol.

We sit under an EZ Up tent on the hill behind the pro pits. Some of us were talking this afternoon about sitting in the bleachers on a day like today, and we all agreed that it wouldn't happen. Main reason being that we were all about the same age, and we're just a little bit past those days. That's one of several reasons I don't do NASCAR any more. The older fans don't want to go through that, and the younger fans, well, there just aren't many younger fans.

Agree....people do not want to sit in the sun and cook for 5+ hours. I wish they would move the Joliel, IL race to the fall.

I am with Eugene weather sucked plain and simple not quite as bad as norwalk a couple years ago but was heading that direction.....hell we even flew out last night in a lightning storm

Joliet's best crowds have been with the July date. Moving to a two day night time qualifying sessions format helped.

Agreed, I've been to Joliet 10 times! Ever since they went to the 2 night session format, attendance has picked up! Of course if the weather is Sh*t it's all academic!

Yeah, but at some of the spring and fall races the weather was kinda crazy too.

I wish they would move eliminations to Sunday night.
