BOTTOM DOLLAR RACING SUFFERS ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION
Willie Brainerd Misses the Call in Kansas City

Kansas City, MO (August 21, 2007) – Willie Brainerd and Bottom Dollar Racing were back in Super Chevy Show, Aeromotive Fuel Systems Nitro Coupe competition. With a lot of off time testing complete, and a new set-up on the car, Brainerd and team were anxious to win rounds.

“We qualified No. 3,” said Brainerd. “The car repeated the positive results we experienced last weekend when we went to the semi-finals in Tulsa . We had momentum from last week heading into Kansas City and really thought we stood a good chance of being competitive.”

After Bottom Dollar Racing’s solid qualifying effort, the team was anxious to head into round one. With the first round pairing against Tony Williams, the team felt confidant with their previous day’s performance. However, when it came time to race, Brainerd and team were unable to make that call. According to Brainerd, an electrical switch malfunction was to blame.

Despite the disappointment, the team is staying focused on the future and their next competition. Bottom Dollar Racing is still working diligently with several major players in the world of Pro Modified.

“Our tests have continued to get better. I feel we are now repeating success and consistency. You know, it’s great to run a number, but when you go to a different track, in a different state, and you can run the same numbers, you know you are onto something. We are waiting for a new blower from Jan-Cen and Terry Morrow from AJPE has been helping me as well. We’ve slowly overcome the challenges of the Lenco drive with the help of Snyder Motorsports and Coan Converters, so we feel everything is now going in the right direction.”

Willie Brainerd and Bottom Dollar Racing will next compete during the Miss Torco Shootout in Tulsa on September 8, 2007.
