Bill Miller BME

Maybe I missed something, but...

Driving home from work (odd, I know) It came to mind that Bill Miller didn't have his car in Pomona, and is not in Phoenix. Any news??

Looks like the recent election will help the country get back on a positive economic track and the race tracks of the NHRA be a little less oily.

^^^You missed the point entirely. Bill funds his own hobby. Said funds come from his business. If his business fails or isn't profitable enough due to decisions our leaders make, then he may not have the extra income to fund his horizontal money pit.

Bill is a very smart business man, IMO. He was one of the first to move his business from my native state to Nevada.

And yes, then that plastic guy moved to a Carolina...

Awful lot of jumping to conclusions here. The only fact stated so far is Bill funds his car out of his business. That's a pretty big deal, even on a part-time basis, I'm assuming most on this board realize what kind of dollars that represents. I hope to see him out there, I root for privateers, and, black race cars...

agreed, well said, although i was ridiculed a few weeks ago for suggesting
the exact same thing in a dixon/beard thread; my comment was potential
sponsors may or may not spend based on election results and their effects
on a particular business sector.

I agree that the those who are elected into office have an effect. But it's not just one (the president) that matters, it's the lot of them (congress). They're the ones that enact the laws (veto aside). I don't have the answers. Austerity? There are arguments against it, and for it. Stimulus? Again, the same. There has got to be some solution to the economy, but no one seems to be working it, or if they're working it, they're working at cross purposes. Congress is dysfunctional right now and I have had enough.

Def agree on this one!

Hmmmm. His economic excuse doesn't seem to fly so well.

Car counts are up in virtually every class (FC (-2 cars), Stock and SS being the exceptions) at Pomona and Phoenix this year over last.

He can sit em all out. As long as the fields are full, nobody will miss him with that attitude.

Areed. It actually is the steady progression of a long line of self serving politicians---this latest group is only making it worse. As a business owner, I can tell you one thing---it ain't real great right now no matter what anybody says. Personally, I hate that Bill Miller's car is not out there. Anybody who puts you can never have enough horsepower or ammunition on their wing is A OK with me.

Wow, you're so right Greg! So right!

Screw Bill Miller and his bad attitude towards attempting to make sure his company remains in business over running a fuel car. I mean, where the hell are his priorities anyway?!! What a jerk...why should he care about protecting his family's income and jobs for his employees?

What a selfish a-hole...right?!

Wow. Way to misconstrue what I said. Typical for this place.

Look... If he can't afford to go racing, that is his decision to park the car. I don't see anyone else parking rides and whining that it is because of who was elected, do you? If it is his racing that is putting his business at risk, then yes, he should park it and focus on that.

Look, his car qualified for a grand total of 3 races last year. 1 of which only had 16 cars in it, and in 2 of those 3 races it qualified in the 16 hole. He is losing money at racing because they only qualify at 3 out of 10 races. Not because of who won an election.

Of course, we all know that the car can't qualify because of who won the election, right?

IMO, this whole thread is out of line. And, the sport WILL miss his car if he's not out there. We need as many cars out there as possible, or there's no growth, just 16 cars shuffling around every week.
