2nd paragraph of 'the run'

In 2006 Tony Schumacher trailed Doug Kalitta entering the final race of the season. Schumacher needed Kalitta to lose early in the race in order to have a chance to catch him. When Kalitta made it to the semi-finals before losing, it looked like Schumacher had done enough to clinch the championship.

shouldn't it be 'kalitta had done enough'?
