I think it's a bit of an excuse. Buddy Hull's fire and oil down occurred down the track well after where Prock spun the tires. Prock was in the same lane has Buddy Hull and his run was immediately after Hull's fire/oil down.
Sour grapes, but understandable considering how big a blow this was for a team with high expectations. We all want to see genuine off the cuff emotions from our drivers, but I don't think that does a lot for Austin's likeability. Considering the driver in front of him just had an incident that had the potential to kill him, his attitude could have been tempered a bit.

It's almost unbelievable to me what he said. With the Tasca team being such a high profile story in the off season they get to the first race,struggle, and he handles it the way he did. I believe they will have a successful season on track but I hope Ford has some PR people that can coach him up. I get it, he was mad but he could have gained fans by more carefully choosing his words. Bob Frey said it over the weekend - If you want to get interviewed when you win you have to get interviewed when you loose as well.

even during testing prior to the race they couldn't get the car down the track. at this point a DNQ couldn't happen to a better team and I hope to see it continue to happen with this group, especially with the way they did John dirty. Plus as pointed out the next 3 pairs after Prock made it down perfectly fine.

I thought that his interview could not have been any worse, he came off as a sore loser. He struck the tires by the time he got to the Christmas Tree on that pass, no one oiled the track at the starting line. He should have just manned up and said that they need to figure some stuff out, instead he sounded pathetic. The first thing that came to my mind was shades of Tanner Gray!!!

He's a spoiled brat who will blame everyone and everything whenever things go wrong. Others got down the track in Q4 after him with no additional track prep. Consider the fact that in testing they didn't run well. Also keep in mind that chassis is the same in consistent pipe that BT3 ran last year and BT3 kept blaming the crew. He needs to learn humility when he loses he loves the mic and cameras when he loses he wants as far aware as possible. I'm sure all the other JFR fans loved to the DNQ I know I did - KARMA baby it's a bit**!

you guys crack me up. When they sit there on camera smiling and spewing sponsors from their mouths saying everything is great you bash them for lack of raw, intense interviews. Then when they give you one you cry and say they are being spoiled brats and assholes with bad attitudes like Coughlin in PS and Prock. Which way do you want it?
I'll jsay this.....I'll bet Force watched that interview, considered Vandergriff's performance and said to himself "you know what? When Austin left I didn't wind up losing a thing..."
Prock showed his frustration; that's understadable. I'd rather see someone vent than stand there and do nothing but thank 10 different sponsors right after the sport's premier driver for the last 2 years failed qualify. But his immaturity yesterday showed yesterday and I'll bet money Tasca gave him a what-for afterward.
Nonetheless, this really isn't that big of a deal. We all lose our temper - hell, you'd need a calculator to count how many times Force has lost his over the past 40 years.

You can pull the rigs out Saturday night/Sunday early if you DNQ. But once they have the traffic pattern set for the Sunday fan arrivals you can not leave. They didn't "Sneak out in the middle of the night." They left during the time period they were allowed to leave.

Raw emotion is one thing but blaming the Nhra for something that is not true is a major lack of class and immaturity. I lost all respect for Austin, he needs to make a public apology to the Safety Safari at the next race. Bob, Jimmy and Thomas disappeared awfully fast too. Did that car ever go down the track in test # 1? Pretty sure it didn't in # 2. Nobody's perfect, when you get out of the car in that situation you don't have time to engage your brain before putting your mouth in gear but just own it!
