For some reason, I'm inclined to say Louie Force (as in John's brother) but I'm not sure. I thought I read once that he had a wheelstander.

I'm not familiar with this rig. Was it diesel powered? (Those big stacks don't look like something a gas or nitro burning engine would use.) Those big slicks sticking out of the wells look odd too. Must have been a solid rear suspension with no travel, or else I'd think the slicks would get cut down the first time the axle moves. It has the same sponsors John had during that era.

Dave, the stacks appear to be for show only. If you look in the back you will see the blown motor with standard zoomies.

That's pretty cool. In that earlier shot in the video, without the helmet, I thought it was John for a second.
It sure looks like John to me.

I don't think I've ever seen a wheeliestander snap the front end up so quickly. Usually it's fairly gentle and the nose rises pretty smoothly, this thing looked wicked.

That video was from E-Town in the mid to late 80's. The person doing the commentary sounds a lot like Berserko Bob.

Whoever the announcer is, he needs a lesson on engine identification. That wasn't a big block Chevrolet as he called it. :p

No doubt, the nose looked like it went up at the hit in a pretty good snap....

That was a very cool video. It looked like a handful to drive that thing. Apparently the ability to "manhandle 'er" doesn't end with John.

I too thought it was John behind the wheel.

Louie is one of the nicest people in Drag Racing

In person Louie has twice as many stories, is twice as animated, and is twice as funny as J Force, and I think J Force is also a neat guy

He is known simply as 'Diesel' and has been around the circus for ever and is known well by many

Louie is a GREAT guy and Marshall is so correct about the stories, and if a big rig slams on the brakes if you have a old JFR shirt on and the driver jumps out and looks like a Force it's Louie and you better hold on.:D

Yeah Mark, this is good ol "DIESEL"!!!!! Louie Force was one of the most entertaining wheelstanders out there! I really couldn't pick a favorite between him and Joe Douthwit's "Smokey Red".

Oh, and in the video, I think that is JOHN towing the Truck. You can see his Funny Car in the staging lanes right behind the truck...Or maybe that's Pat Austin's Funny Car??

Wow!

Don't care about the little white wagon (or wheelstanders in general) but the K-whopper is REALLY something.

Thanks for the thread and the link.
