My question is....
Why would you build an "almost big show" or "easily convertible" fuel funny car and go to a national event and get zero TV time, get treated like a sportsman racer, and then have to WIN the event to get the same pay out as a Funny Car non qualifier. (Last I heard it was 7,500. Correct me if I'm wrong).

Is the purse to win a National Event in TA/FC and TAD still $5,000? If so, that's what it was 16 years ago when we won the Fall Las Vegas Nationals. A few years later we won the Winternationals at Pomona and nothing changed.

If I ever win that big lottery, I'm going to sponsor TAFC and TAD and make sure they get big prize money and big fields. So, pray that I win the big lottery! LOL

If I remember correctly, we collected just about $10 grand total with contingencies for Vegas. After we won the 2012 Winternationals, Dwayne Shields came over to congratulate me, and told me not to expect much because many of the contingency sponsors dropped out. He was right.

What I really appreciated was getting off the record monetary credit toward future purchases from some of our hard parts suppliers for winning. While we always supported them as they did us, I don't want to blow the whistle on them, because it's likely they are still doing it. And I always believed "you know who", from Glendora would more than likely try to get a piece of the action if they could figure out how to do it.
