Alan who?

I'm wondering just how long Alan is going to take a back seat before he gets involved with Del's funny car?

You severely underestimate Aaron Brooks and his ability. I would put anything on the line in saying that hes an absolute secret weapon that very few in the public eye knows about but EVERYBODY in the fuel ranks does....Plus Rod Centorbi is another super sharp guy, and the entire brain trust on that team is All Star caliber....Despite all of Capp's wins Del is still 2nd in points....

Im still saying both him and Dixon will be number 1 by seasons end, with many many more victories to come through the years....This team is like a sleeping giant just waiting to be awakened....

Congrats to Tony, Mike Green, Army, and DSR on 2 wins in 5 races.

But back up a minute before you even attempt to compare the 08 and 09 seasons!!

The competition this season is so watered down it's pathetic!!!!
Team Kalitta has one car, so they are working with 1/3 of the data they had last year, and 1/3 the chances to bump people down the qualifying ladder, and 1/3 the chances to lay down a big number, and knock out a top competitor. Antron Brown/Matco team is completely revamped with rookie TF crewchiefs. Team Bud, er Bernstien has a new crewchief. Snake has a new Driver, and Alan's deal is completely new with a minimum of testing. Then the whole bottom half is made up of part time, and low-buck independents. The truth is the margin for error just got alot bigger, and the Sarge and his new team are using that to thier advantage.

Another factor to consider is literally working for the US Army. Perhaps the work ethic and drive they instill in military people has rubbed off on the DSR Army personnel?

If you represent people who are putting their lives on the line to defend the country, it might make you try a bit harder than usual. And teamwork is big in the military, as your life can depend on it, so maybe the entire Army Team is giving all they can to their collective efforts?

Or it's the log book.

boy o boy did u hit the nail on the head. I wanted to post a similar comment, but i didn't want to seem like i was bashing lo budget teams and i'm incredibly lazy :p. The NHRA and others were commenting about full Fields despite the economy and yes while the Fields are technically full, only about 8 cars have a realistic chance of winning any given event. For hi budget teams The first round is essentially an attempt for lane choice in round 2. Theres not to much drama as far as the countdown is concerned, as u can pretty much pencil in the top 10 cars that will make the countdown right now !!

We respect Alan and everyone on that team.

And rightly so. It's just a matter of time before the whole Al-Anabi team gets things settled down and they become a real competitive force.

I think you and all of DSR deserve huge credit for the marvelous job you have done in recovering from major disruptions to your teams and coming out exceptionally strong this year. Of the 10 races in the TF and FC classes this year, you've won 5, and had the runner-up in 4 -- that's very stout. Nice work.

Again this thread wasn't started as a knock on alan or anyone on the al anabi team, but i think even this early in the season if you said that the army team would be leading in wins 2-1 it would come as a shock again good job to everyone on that team

What month is this?

Let's see what's going on in September when the racing gets going....;)

The Army team is doing a great job!! People are beginning to see how good Tony is as a driver. Before his main job was to "Not screw up" :D Now he is really getting it done. All of the TF Teams have had major changes and we should enjoy the competition.
With that being said, three points come to mind. First, starting from scratch is VERY difficult.....especially two teams. Second, both AJ cars are already competitive although not dominant. Finally, this season really hasn't gotten going yet. Bring on the dog days of summer
This should be interesting
