2026 Stampede of Speed (1 Viewer)

Awesome event so far! Any idea why TAFC didn't run after TAD? I know the schedule is a bit changed up because of PS and PSB.

when you have a 5 day national event like this one, with many entries in every class, plus expanded sportsman fields,
is it really necessary to also host the street outlaws? to me i could care less.
i'm sure there is certain percentage of fans that identify with them ..... IMO it further proves that every event on the national event
calendar is a show into it's own, regardless or regular season or the contrived countdown. even the cancelled ihra triple crown event
at reading was important enough to napa to have RCM attend. take a look at the autograph lines for ron and maddi this year,
the fans love them, win or lose.

and the one thing that boggles my mind about this great event in ennis, why in the world would nhra name
glen menard and don garlits the 'legends' of this year's race!? i mean come on, menard was an original track manager,
and garlits is a FL boy ....... texas boy EDDIE HILL is synonymous with motorplex. what an embarrassment to not name him
the legend for this year's 75th anniversary race. am i out in left field on this? or does anyone else think the same?

Maybe we'll finally get that long-awaited all 3 second F/C field this weekend. Prock is still out, so he should easily get in with a 3.90 something at least. That will leave just one spot still outside of the 3 second zone.
chris king just misses with a 4.03. haddock, campbell, and diehl no. one more session!

1 out of 5 FC's needs to run 3.999 in Q4. nope. although i think terry haddock bumped into field
with his 4.033 just ahead of Q3 16th place chris king's 4.038.
would guess this might be the quickest TF field this year?

jake sanders in the show!
congratulations michael chitty TS jeg's win. his first.
melanie johnson with holeshot win in jeg's TAD. her first win! (i think)

I just watched a replay of Capps big boomer in Q3. It sure didn't seem like there was any evidence of an unhappy engine there. Usually we see dropped cylinders, and then hold our breath for the explosion. Not this time.

I often wonder how Funny Car team owners budget for engine carnage and wrecked bodies for the year. How many bodies to you expect to lose during the season? 2? 4? And how much engine damage do you budget for? That all has to make a big difference between profit and loss for the year. I would think Ron still pays himself the same salary regardless. But where does the money come from if you go over budget due to engine carnage and having to buy more bodies than you thought? And by the way - who is making FC bodies today? Is it still Jack Roush Composites or something like that? Or am I behind the times with that guess?

How about an entire 16 car PS field under 6.50, along with a new national ET record? BTW, I like the look of the Elite car testing with the hoodscoop.

Ron seemed very casual afterward, usually after an incident he is pretty emotional.
Maybe the budget is strong?
Nothing funny about Funny Cars!
