2026 Stampede of Speed (17 Viewers)

Love to see Steve Johnson into the semis
Yes, and he hasn't backed into it either. He has found something that is all of a sudden getting him some very competitive ET's.

"Todd beats Dejoria on a holeshot" in Rd 2 of FC. Really? Is it really a holeshot when your opponent (Dejoria) is 3 days late? She must have been staring at her phone when the light went green. And she threw away a stout 3.89 (low ET of the Rd).

she has done that before but not quite that bad. Over thinking if you ask me.

If the slower E.T. turns on the win light, that is a Holeshot. Period.

Yes, in this case it wasn't JR being stellar as much as Alexis missing it, but it's still a Holeshot.

Like when Driver A goes deep and EVERYONE knows the math, the scoreboards show a Holeshot, that's what history will show.

Only stream issue I had was the weird screeching sound, but it would come and go, not to bad, also it seemed the video quality was a bit better and when allowed the cars sounded pretty good (burnout and launch) still to much announcer volume
Glad someone else noticed the occasional sound improvement. Q3 W. Smith and J. Ashley, Clay M. and Leah P. all made Loud full passes. Then A.B. ran a 340 and Tony S. made it 300 feet and that too sounded Loud. Both Langdon and Kalitta's burnouts were louder then normal too. Was this a fluke? Or part of the erratic sound problems? These 5 pairs were noticeably loud. It's like all they have to do is turn the damn dial!!??

Lots of commentary from Steve Torrence today and I thought it was excellent. I also noticed improved sound here and there.

I wonder if DeJoria was thinking about Prock who just got through double-stepping in the same lane and erred on the side of caution. 1/4 of a second is eternity in a drag race but in reality it's very little time. And I hate to see what happened to Maddi in the final. Too bad she didn't just keep on going (light was .000) but that's not what your reaction tells you to do. To her credit she was as gracious of a loser as one could be under the circumstances.

she took that loss like a pro,ole austin should take some notes lol

The TV graphic showed Madi’s reaction time as .000 when she double stepped, yet the red light came on.
Why wasn’t the RT a negative number?
Or, was I imagining things?

jim duncan straps a 3thou package on larry hodges in SS final for win. WOW, that's pretty hard to beat.
congrats to chris knudsen on big win in stock. as alan r. says, extra points for the 3rd pedal!
back to back double D + 5 day nat. event, the stampede of speed = 9 consecutive days of racing. quite the event.
notable E1 losses. blake @ 3.91, cruz @ 3.89, and jake sanders at 3.80
mobil 1 getting mileage out of this event, with DK and leah. leah also with advance auto parts, haven't seen them in pro nhra in a while.
edit: and congrats to pawuk father/son victories in super gas and FSS.

Live timing showed Maddi as LB3A which is left before the tree.

The Motorplex uses a Port-A-Tree timing system which has different parameters.

What confused me was the .000 posted RT which should not have registered as a foul. But after reviewing the run a couple of times it was clear the RT was no .000. More like -.400. She left a good 1/2 second ahead of Antron who recorded a .156 RT. So indeed, likely a leave before the tree activated.

The reaction time starts when the Ambers flash (or the last Amber on a full tree)

Depending on the system the readout for leaving before the tree is different. Compulink show LBTA which again, depending on the tree is: Left Before Tree Activated or Left Before Third Amber. I believe the Port-A-Tree shows just zeros.
