Interestingly, I learned some years ago that the Pomona track is actually in the City of Laverne, not Pomona. Maybe they are drag racing fans over there and annexed the track at some point....

PS: glancing through the Winternats results on Drag Race Central, that looked like a pretty impressive day of eliminations.

impressive yes,but one very long weekend with the weather and Schumacher's stuff and the tree had to be fixed also one of the track sprayers went down making track prep extra long.

the majority of them. i'm fine with the current crop. in fact, i really enjoy galvin's delivery maybe the most of all.

I play in multiple bands , singing for 50 years. I didn't think the guy was horrible. Maybe we tuned him out. I did notice he didn't have much of a range, but at least he sang within it.

Going back to James Stevens wreck, is it me or does it look like the car accelerated and hugged the wall instead of keeping the same trajectory? I saw a random post on Facebook and parts and pieces landed against the fence on the other side of the track near the pits. Also showed fence damage and what was left of the front of the chassis which was all tubing.

Need to go back and look at NHRA tv from Friday and Saturday but noticed a rather large tire barrier near the scoreboard on the right lane yesterday. Not sure if it was there before and I didn’t notice or not.

Last thing…the men and women of the Safety Safari are 100% badasses. Truly amazing what that team can do.

I saw both rear ends today at Steve’s . Still trying to figure out the cause.

Yes, they were a little hard to listen to over the PA at the track yesterday. She is pleasant enough, and is well-spoken, but I just don't think she adds much of interest to the commentary. I couldn't care less if there is a woman on the mic or not, but she better know a LOT about drag racing, and have a lot of pertinent information to talk about as a color commentator. When you get a so-so announcing team like this, I REALLY miss the days of Bob Frey and Alan Reinhart. Those guys would always fill the down time with really interesting drag racing info. Even during the back up and pre-stage time periods, they would always have interesting things to say. Not meaningless drivel. I even remember hearing the great Linda Vaughn doing color commentary at Pomona from time to time years ago, and for those who were not there, she really knew her stuff, believe it or not. Why couldn't they get, say, Brittany Force to do a stint during the fuel sessions? Or a guy like Bruce Larson, who was in the house on Saturday. Or the Snake, who was also there?

I think Courtney may be better off doing the finish line interviews, instead of in the booth. Or, maybe she'll step up her game, and get better doing the color commentary. I guess we'll see.

Its beginning to look like RWR adding a second car was not a great idea. Justin Ashley and Antron do fine with solo car teams. Model those two examples. Running old parts in top fuel yields predictable and messy results.

I can guarantee you RWR is not running old parts! Their parts are as good as anyone's out there right now. Watch some of Clay Millican's excellent youtube video's.

Sitting at the the top end , it was really hard to follow what two cars were racing. The announcing was annoying! One of the rounds with Alexis, all Courtney did was blab about her the whole time before they launched ! Well, who was in the other lane? I don’t have every car color and sponsor memorized with what driver is in it . She spent so much time going on and on about Alexis, the other driver was never mentioned again . One of my acquaintances was complaining about her delivery. If there is live timing and scoring, please send me a link. I couldn’t find it. Just before they launch , something like , “ here we go with Alexis right lane and Prock left “ would be better. They did do that usually. But not that one.
