Personally I remember quite well when I started whining about the stock being taken out of pro stock. When the Beretta's came into the class, they had to move the rear wheels about 3" forward to keep the tires from hitting the trunk area. I believe it was Bob Glidden who was quoted as questioning NHRA's motives, saying "what do you think they'd say if I moved my rear wheels ahead?" The next issue I had was when I saw a TV shot of WJ's car on the line and the hood was bowed way up in the center, nearly to the roof! I couldn't imagine any sort of check template that car could've possible passed. Now the cars have stretched noses, they're so narrow they almost need a kick stand and they're about a flip-up body away from being a funny car. I love funny cars, but, there's already a funny car class, so how about putting some stock back into the class?
