140 degree track in Norwalk...

Glad Im not there, gotta be 100 degrees there!

According to the NWS, the predicted high for today is 103. At 2 pm, the temp was 96F/36C, humidity 52%, heat index 109F/42C.

 That would take the fun out of it. I'd like to hear how much ice cream they sell this weekend.

Q4 for TF shows 146º track temp. As I went through the results for Q4 I counted 10 "up in smoke" and 2 "smoked the tires". I don't think I'd want to be a spectator, crew chief, crew member, or driver in those conditions.

This reminds me of the old days at englishtown. When it was run the second wk in july. Ill never forget driving on the NJ turnpike at 7:30 in the morning going to the race and seeing a thermometer that read 89.

This was by far the most brutal weekend I have ever spent at the track. There were a couple of times where I got pretty lightheaded, nauseous, and other signs of dehydration.

I buy tickets every year for Norwalk and it is usually pretty nice with a good breeze coming in from the lake, 100 degrees is too hot for me so I stayed home. Want to go to Indy on Saturday this year but remember last year? It was 99 there on Saturday!

I remember when you were like that all the time around a certain rookie flopper pilot :D:D:D

Sunday's forecast says a high of 83 with a north wind at 14 mph. I'm sure that will feel like paradise after the past few days.

This weekend is a perfect example why the rule was implemented. It makes Saturday qualifying actually mean something.

Paul, qualifying rule aside. Because of the Super hot track conditions, the fans didn't get their monies worth, between the two fuel sessions how many full passes? Not NHRA's fault, I don't think you can ever make a 140 degree track raceable!

You know who won this race? The ice cream man! That's who deserves a Wally! :D Whether it's ticket buyer, track worker or competitor....That's rough, tough racing condish, man.

Hey Anyone who goes to a race In Ohio in JULY and don't expect to
sweat there ass off and have that kind of temp is stupid. Plain and simple.
I ve been at columbus under same conditions with a below standard race track down there.

re: Sunday.....raise the price of ice cream and fix the damn track! One lane fuel racing and Pedal-fests in pro stock....really?
