Ted Turner Blames Future Cannibalism on Global Warming (1 Viewer)

It's amazing what eight degrees can do according to Ted Turner, who was on the Charlie Rose Show on Tuesday night. Turner claims that an eight degree rise in temperature over forty years will cause a Soilent Green - like state and kill all the plants and turn everyone into cannibals!

Of course, Mr. Turner who publicly ridicules people for their belief in God, won't be around in 40 years to eat crow or should we say a person's leg? A gullible Mr Rose could do no better as he failed to ask Turner about recent scientific finding s why the oceans have not warmed up at all since taking measurements five years ago. Or where he got eight degrees? The UN predicts that the earth will warm up less than a degree in that same time period.
 
He's the same guy that married Jane Fonda... Get him out of broadcasting and all heck breaks loose :p :D ;)
 
Well, is there anything we can do to speed up this global warming business? I'm in Virginia tonight and it's pretty darned chilly here!
 
Anyone notice that it's always the celebs and non-scientists that go on these shows and provide these wild predictions? In the movie Ed Wood this guy who was like the Amazing Kreskin would go on all these TV shows and predict the future(TRUE STORY). After a taping one night Wood, the Amazing Kresken, Bella Logossi, and some guy with a turbin went out to dinner. Wood asked this Kresken figure how he knew all of this stuff about the future and Kreskin said "I don't, it's all horse $hit".

These global warming celebs are no different.
 
Maybe Ted and Al Gore should hook up. Heard an interview with that clown the other night, and he has apparently hit a gold mine with his "Global Warming" deal. Oh well, at least "Hanoi Jane" was smart enough to dump Ted.:rolleyes:
 
BINGO! Did you know the founder of the Weather Channel wants to sue Al Gore for his carbon credit scheme?
 
Ted is a heavy drinker and has been know to be plowed when giving speeches and interviews.

His dad committed suicide, hopefully it runs in the family.

On the last cruise I went on (Caribbean in February of this year) Norweigan Cruise Line offered a "green cruise" package. Basically, you could buy carbon offsets based on their estimates of each individual passenger's "carbon footprint" caused by the cruise. You had the choice to have them plant the attendant number of trees -or- villages somewhere in Russia or the Ukraine would go "dark" for a certain amount of time shutting off their coal fired power plant. The fees were not published, so I did not get to see what this crap cost, but that cruise was also the first cruise I ever went on that had a $9 per day fuel surcharge. It's gettin' weird out there I tells ya ....

Not to thread jack, but went fishing Monday, pulled out 2 largemouth and one spot, but they were dinks. The lake we were at still had a lot of fish staged off the coves in deep water. They guy I was with said another couple weeks, and we'll be knocking them in like crazy, not uncommon to pull 50 fish a day or better. Need to get me a big old toad!
 
Other countries could clean up their own corruption and adopt more of our capitalism, which gives you more small business owners who start from scratch (more than 50% of Americans work for small businesses and, where do people go when they have nothing and want to make something out of themselves?).

The rest of the world would rather have things that pull our country down to their level instead of things that elevate them to ours. It's no different than "socialists"...ahem...sorry..."liberals"...ahem...sorry again..."secular progressives" in this country who want to see every type of confiscatory progressive tax tear down those nasty employers...ahem...sorry...achievers....ahem....sorry again....rich people.

That cat is EVIL.

I went fishing last weekend, the spawn has already started in Lake Mead. Caught a few largemouth, but they are still skinny from the winter. The smallies were VERY active and a lot of fun to catch. All in all, probably caught about 20 fish in 4 hours. Good Times for the first trip since last fall!

I just know where people go/come when they have nothing and want to work their butts off, then work a little harder to have something extra to put it at risk (often losing it to start all over again, often repeating this process several times) to finally get a business that works if they're lucky. I constantly run into people who come here from other parts of the world for the American Dream. They understand it, even if people who were born here don't.
