I found this on Sports News Feed how crazy is this?

Kyle Busch was cited for careless and reckless driving Tuesday afternoon after being clocked going 128 mph in a 45 mph zone outside Mooresville, N.C., the Statesville Record & Landmark reported.

Busch apologized for the incident later Tuesday evening via a press release, which said: "Today I received a traffic citation in Iredell County. I was test driving a new sports car and I got carried away. I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors, and race teams for my lack of judgment. I take responsibility for my actions and I can assure you that something like this will never happen again. I thank the Iredell County Sheriff's Department and all law enforcement for the hard work they do every day to protect the public and to enforce the laws in a fair and equitable manner."

According to the report, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Chris Stone stopped a yellow sports car between the cities of Troutman and Mooresville.

Kyle Busch is known for his speed on the racetrack, and now he may be known for being nearly as swift off it. (AP Photo)"I didn’t even know what kind of car it was," Stone told the newspaper. “I hit my radar button and it read 128.”

Stone also told the newspaper that Busch said "This is just a toy," when asked about driving so fast.

Busch is coming off a second-place finish in the Sprint All-Star Race, where he was the runner-up to Carl Edwards.

If I was test driving a Lexus LFA, I would've taken it somewhere and pumped it for a 128mph+ myself.

I can also think of some spots I could do it without getting shook down by the cops.

Word in the garage is Denny Hamlin had the car last week and he was bragging about it hitting 160+

I see an endorsement deal with Lexus coming soon for a certain NASCAR driver.

Let's see, how would they show that? Here in Minnesota, they'd show him standing at the side of the road, the car on the hook, with the police handing him his ticket. (Anything over 100 in this state is automatic revocation for a year. Unless you're a player on a certain "underperforming" local football team of course, then they file the charges to read 99mph. ) All the while he'd be talking about the power and luxury.

He'a s D!CK!!! Another case of a "celebrity", and I use that term loosely in this case, getting off when a normal citizen would have went to jail. That sends a great message to our children, just become a nascar driver and you can drive as fast as you want with minimal consequences.

I agree with Tony Smith, I would have found a better location to test drive that thing. It's a 200+ mph car, so 128 was just running through the gears......:D

By the way, $375,000 retail on those babies!

Hi there,

I live in Europe and i'm wondering if a citation is the same as een speeding ticket.
I'm also wondering how long Busch will lose his driving license and if this also means his he cant race.

I think the fine will cost more than a regular speeding ticket.

You do not have to have a valid drivers license to drive in NASCAR.

Ok, thanks.
I always thought fines in the US were high.
In my country you lose your license if you overspeed more then 30 miles and get a 700 euro fine (1000 USD) If your a repeat offender..... well your in real trouble.

As I mentioned before in an earlier post, in the state of Minnesota, your license is automatically suspended for one full year if you're caught driving over 100mph. The fine is pretty hefty, but I'm not sure what it is. I'll see if I can find out.

He's a real TOOL. He should have gotten a DUI here in Phoenix around 2006. He decided he didn't have to get in line when he was leaving PIR after a race.
One of Joe's men stopped him. He got off with a slap on the wrist.

Wrong Bush....you are talking about his brother Kurt.

I think a $50,000 donation to Doug Herberts BRAKES foundation would
be the least boy wonder could do.
