zMax Track Issues

Question, why wasn't the other two lanes used since they were having issues on ones being used, they might have said why and I missed it.

That track continues to have problems. Wasn't it just last year they replaced the entire racing surface?

seems to always be something at this track. Too bad they spent so much money on the extra 2 lanes, looks like they should have focused on getting 2 good ones.

Kuddos to the safety safari for getting it where they did

Did anyone catch the part where they showed the track temperatures, over 130 degrees? I don't know of any other track that would hold in those conditions either.

Where are all the posts for less track prep? That would yield similar results.

A new surface and 130+ degree track temps...i can see where that could be a little tricky fort he tuners that want to throw everything they have at it. Some hit it, and some didn't.

They re-did the track for this year, and for the spring race it was good 'till they got off the concrete, and it was pretty slick on the asphalt.
For some reason, it sounds like they ground the track surface after the spring race at some point, and the rubber was not sticking to the starting line at all. I saw cars lined up farther out of the groove than I have ever seen before. Once you got out there a bit, I think it was ok.

I don't know for one time you have the luxury of another track next door and you don't try it, what a waist

Before an event starts, doesn't the Safety Safari spent at least the good part of a day getting the track prepped? If that's the case, then the time it would take to prep the other two lanes probably wouldn't have been feasible.

You're right but it didn't work the track was junk all weekend, I talked with couple sportsman, alcohol rack not good. You have it use it, like my Buddy Larry says * you can't fix stupid * to make it clear I have all respect for safety safari and crews t hat work there butts off*. Totally top brass issue no concern about money teams spend each round.

It's my guess that just "switch to the other lanes" isn't nearly as simple and quick as some would like to believe. What if they're worse? Better the devil you know...

I doubt Reading or Mission or whatever is considered the best track surface in the Country is, could yield good times with a 130 degree track!

Any reason they didn't install a thermal control device in the track like they did at Bandamire? They had to tear it all back up last year anyway..... That would have just made sense

Bad track or not, I did notice the crowd on the left side of the track(s) was much larger than the right. They were closer. I say scrap this four-wide BS, get rid of the right two lanes, and move the stands on the right closer. I'm tired of this four-wide circus clown act. Glad it's only one race a year. Drag racing should be one against one. This isn't NASCAR. JMHO

Know one is forcing you to watch.

The sad thing is they keep trying to make the track better and it just gets worse.............:(
