Max Naylor made an interesting statement in the Media Center after he wrapped up the top spot.

Paraphrasing Naylor, he said he didn't care one way or another but the most important thing by far was to do what the fans wanted. He said they are the only reason we're here.

He's right.

I've never noticed WJ dancing around an issue like so many others do. I'd say he's probably not going to make the "Most Politically Correct" list within the NHRA arena? Larry Morgan also comes to mind for that group!

Speaking of KB racing,are they still in test mode? sure looks like it. There's been enough time since the shock clarification rule to convince me that the edge they had is not as large as it once was. They use to never make a bad run,now,well you know the drill.

IMO what made WJ's comment great was that he would have done under the old format. I'm sick and tired of hearing how this people didn't like the Clowndown at first but now they like it because they have a chance when they previously would have racing for positions in the top 10.

Doesn't this just prove that the man has some integrity? He's not liking or disliking something only based on whether he's benefitting from it, but instead on whether he thinks it's right or wrong.

It'll only be how EASY for someone who's on the outside looking in who would have been on the inside under the old deal to criticize it.

That'd be like me saying "It's wrong to steal" and then a thief cuts me in on the money and I say "Aw hell, it's not THAT bad!"

I tried to go by his pit to have him sign the anti countdown picture but he wasn't around.

Based on the crowds it appears many others don't like the scam down either. I was shocked at how empty the stands were sun and mon during nitro. I even took some pics of it.
