With all the news and stories circulating around the drag (auto) racing world. It looks almost inevitable the NHRA will go to an all 1,000 ft. race in 2009. I also see all sportsmen racers following suit. Now, my question is will IHRA follow suit in '09????
Good question.....I haven't heard a word about IHRA changing to 1,000ft.
Their last race is this weekend (Oct. 17-19) If they are gonna change, I would think they would announce it there.
Man, I hope they don't go 1000 foot! Geez, I may have to just start going to the local short tracks and give up on Drag Racing. This is getting pathetic.
going to 1000' is not that easy on the tracks folks....most timing systems do not have a 1000' mph setting, so they would have to upgrade.
I doubt you'll see 1000', unless IHRA wants to promote crossingover from NHRA, but they declined a racer or two from doing that this year.
