Just FYI, not real hard to come off I-10 to the track. Good signage so you get directed to reserved parking, VIP parking. etc. However if you want to park in "general" parking area, it's a bit confusing. The road will take you to the road going by the pit entrance. Just keep going towards the Chevron and you'll see a general parking sign. Parking was free Friday. Once you park, you'll walk up a small incline and walk around the lake path to the spectator entrance in the pits. This is a different entrance, but was easy to get thru (well, at 7:45 AM).
Years ago, back in the Winston daze, you could park on the E side of the lake and walk the path to the track. They had Winston busses to take you around the path if you didn't want to walk. It was kind of nostalgic to walk that path again, especially going home last nite. Water was still, you could see the lights reflected in the lake.
Hope everyone has a great time & enjoys the race.
