Why a canopy?

One wonders why the canopy hasn't appeared in A/F or T/D?

I agree with Jack Beckman did have a canopy. But a TAD an TD weight matters. In SC with the size of the motor, more weight is not a issue, the SC can just dial in a pattern for a car with more weight or less. a TAD of TD are all in for a run, But TD needs not brake out. 30 pounds plus makes a big difference.

With so many Top Dragsters right up against the 6.10 floor, an extra 30 pounds might not be the worst thing to add to them

A canopy in that class would make seeing your opponent and driving the stripe much more difficult.

I would never run a canopy. I don't even want the body going up high enough to where I can't comfortably see over it when looking sideways (even with a window). Weight is a non-factor.
