Who's In the Cornwell FC (12 Viewers)

was there ever really a medical issue or was that the way JFR decided to keep what was actually happening away from the sponsors and fans in order to keep everyone satisfied about where Robert was?
Something internal prob happened at JFR and they want to keep it quiet. Smokescreen

Robert did have a public job. In my mind that doesn't require his (or anyone's) personal life to be an open book.
He worked his way from crewman, to driver, to Champion, to president at JFR.
Life and circumstances change, and he decided to leave the position and pursue other things.
When he left the company, his former team was running good and winning races.
All the cars were sponsored and the company was doing well.
I don't know all the details, but what I do know doesn't add up to a conspiracy.
And if I was starting a new team and he wanted to drive, I would be thrilled to have him.

As always, just my opinion.

Alan with all due respect to you yes he was an asset as a driver and President. However he decided to step away from his positions at JFR and pursue his gun interests. This caused everyone at JFR to lie about where he was and what was happening until the story broke that he purchased Durham Gun Works. Robert was the heir apparent at JFR yet he walked away. If they were to bring him back I would be afraid that he would once again show no loyalty and walk away whenever he didn't like something. John gave him a job in 1995 as a crew person and 2005 promoted him to a driver. Robert was with JFR for 25 years and demonstrated no locality to the company he was President of so why bring him back?
All on the outside.

Stop speculating! and stirring rumors, Robert had a legit medical issue. That's his option to not disclose it to the visitors on Nitro mater or anyone/anywhere else. People quit racing for a lot of reasons, John and Robert are fine he is part of the force family his daughter is John's granddaughter for god's sake.

Leave it be, he, "Robert" doesn't deserve all the questions about what happened and why.

Do you know the Hight or Force family personally? How can you possibly say that you know everyone at JFR was lying and that he didn't have a medical issue? Not every "celebrity" hangs their laundry on the line.

How about a different angle, which is only hypothetical, but? What if Hight was TOLD that "Austin is taking your seat in the Prock Rocket" before the 2024 season???

For the record, I'm all for discussion and I know everyone has an opinion. As I always say: "Not arguing, just discussing."
I just can't figure out why some seem to demand answers to personal issues. Then jump to the worst conclusion when they don't get them.

Jealousy can be an ugly thing, not saying this is the case here, but?

YES I do, I have known John, Laurie, Brittany, Courtney, Ashley and Adria since the days we ran T/F at AHRA races when John was running F/C and we would attend the pre-race press luncheons with our teams and talk at the track. At NHRA races we often talked at the hotel, track, in staging, near the starting line etc. After Robert left I was attending a race as a spectator and was enjoying a conversation with John when I asked about Robert his mood changed and he walked away without saying anything. Later that weekend we talked again and the subject never was brought up.

I am always under the assumption that maybe he did have a medical condition and was intending on coming back but after not being in the the car and not going crazy he decided he was content not getting back in the car and maybe John's crash cemented that decision. He already accomplished everything there is to accomplish, 50(?)+ wins, multiple championships, multiple Indy wins, fame and fortune. He also had been on the road for nearly 30 years to that point and maybe he just wanted to be home. Add on the fact that he had the ability to start a business centered around his first true passion in trap shooting & firearms (which I believe pre-dated his involvement in racing) and thats all she wrote. At the end of the day, he does not owe anyone any explanation. In fact, we as fans owe him respect for giving us thrills and exciting racing for the years that he did.
