I've been boycotting national events for 8 or 9 years and its apparent the nhra is not gonna cave to my demands, to return to quarter mile racing:p so I just may finally return, however being a lot older, I am more paranoid about driving 8 hrs and the event getting rained out. I hope that forecast is accurate
 
I was away from events for a few years and when I finally made it back to the Keystone Nats I said to myself "you don't need earplugs....you've been here before".
I went down to the finish line and got the camera ready. The video I shot of the first pair of Fuelers shows me dropping the camera :D


Those suckers got exponentially louder over the 4 or so years of my absence!! (also gained a stronger pressure wave that feels like a punch to the gut)
 
I fly in on Friday morning and will be there all weekend, hope the weather forecast holds out.
 
I'll pick you up at the airport....you can't miss me. 6 foot 2.....Standing there next to me will be a midget dressed just like me.....

I will be there Friday through Sunday for my 33rd consecutive time. My parents will be celebrating their 35th trip to ETown.

This will be my 31st race at E-town. I moved away 11 years ago and still fly back to hang out with my dad and go to this race.

after Q round 1 of factory stock showdown anthony bongiavani is on the list of eight, but he fails to make the final 8 for this field. he also qualifies 4th in super stock with same car? with an 8.536. roy hill qualifies 8.533 puts him 5th in 8 car factory stock showdown. bo butner Q #1 in stock with a -1.383 under 8.767 that is slower than the 8th car in the factory showdown with a 8.564. in the past bo has been part of the show down races but not here?.....names like bruno massel on list for factory showdown with his camaro, but not on Q sheet for stock. bruno also running his cobalt in comp. elim.
a little confused:confused:......wish i was there watching though :cool:

The Factory Showdown car is a Stocker, the Super Stock car is a different machine.

If you don't make the quick 8 for the Showdown you automatically go on the Stock ladder.

Bo has a naturally aspirated Showdown car (an FS/X) so he qualifies against a slower index that the blown cars (FS/XX)

The Showdown race is separate from the regular Stock race, so if you qualify for it, you are in a Head's Up 8 car field.

thanks alan.......so if you Q for the quick 8 factory showdown, you do not also run stock?.....just trying to understand how
these nat. events work with the factory showdown 8 car head's up field.
