Where is it?????????

Ford may have won the race but Tasca's comment could have a negative impact on the positive Ford message. Totally uncalled for, and not needed. Hagen got hod winked, but I don't think John Force had any thing to do with it, Tasca was just being stupid and he lost any respect from me anyway. Congrats to John and all of JFR racing, he struggled through the year but won, the sign of a true champion, never say never.

Rick

have to agree to disagree with you rick.
my thoughts are tasca played the game for ford, played the game with hagen, and hagen wasn't prepared (and that's too bad); in the heat of the moment, bob had a game plan and matt didn't see it coming and sat there with him.if hagen had staged early and still got beat, bob would not have made those comments, just would have been happy with the win - the fact hagen sat there with him, then still lost only gave fuel to bob knowing his tactic may have been the difference in the race.
it's the finals, tasca's a new ford guy trying to make a name for himself, he raced his race for force and ford and it worked; he was a key player in the 15th title for john force; something i doubt will be overlooked by ford or force

Somebody probably hit on this somewhere in these threads but has winning a race come to playing "staging games" at the start? What happened to beating them with performance? The race probably would have had the same result had they staged normally, wouldn't the Tasca interview sounded better if he threw in "Ford performance beat that Dodge" instead of what actually went down?

Or is that statement "Ford performance beat that Dodge" not true for Nitro categories because all the cars are the same anyway, and the best way to get an advantage is to play staging games?

Kinda summarizes why I don't watch the races for the racing, and instead watch it for the technology / engineering, power and speed.

I think it was a great moment for the sport. A great moment for the over 60 crowd. A great moment for Ford. It was especially a great moment for John and his team. They have been through a lot the last few years and he means so much to drag racing. For me, it was the feel good moment for all of motorsports this year.........:)

has winning a race come to playing "staging games" at the start?

It happens all the time. Has since the beginning. It's just part of the sport. I personally hate it, and don't participate in it, but it happens. The way around it is to just play your own game: stage when you're ready and don't let the other guy rattle you. But that's hard.

And I just love it when karma comes back to bite the people who play the games. But it's not anything new.

funny car on sunday was everything nhra could hope for and then some!
drama with a capital D!

storyline: david vs. goliath; sports/fight theme

characters: veteran champion john force / youthful newcomer matt hagan

plot: final battle of year long war, winner take all
hagan enters battle with edge over veteran; has champion on his knees

surprise plot twist: youthful newcomer bob tasca; ally of veteran
enters battle unexpectedly, slashes at hagan, takes him to his knees;
combatants now equal

story resolution: veteran champion overcomes adversary by slimmest of
margins to the roars of the crowd; his glory is fleeting and he knows it,
but today he once again stands victorious.

Reminds me of the WWF and Macho Man Randy Savage running down the ramp grabbing the chair sliding under the ropes and smashing Hulk Hogan across the back giving the win to Rick Flair.

The story is real and the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

What was that again about not being able to write this sh*t!! :D

Hated the way Hight got his championship, will never be able to be a Force fan again. That being said ... Force won his this year and we can only congratulate him.
