When you travel to an NHRA event and stay in a hotel....

Do you use the hotel's membership program?
Is it worth signing up for? What kind of benefits or advantages have you recieved?

I usually stay at the same one in Ontario, twice per year. Not sure if it is enough to rack up any points or benefits.

Paul, while I've never paid attention to a particular hotel's membership program, I do make a point of staying at places that participate in the Trip Rewards program that I recently signed up for. Hope this helps.

I think it's a no-brainer. Join! I joined Hampton Inn's HHonors program and you can also earn miles with an airline's (whichever one you might belong with) frequent flyer program. I guess I considered that since it doesn't cost anything to join, it was worth joining. I also joined Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, etc.) rewards program for the same reason as well as Thrifty Car Rental's Blue Chip program.

The membership programs can be worthwhile.
I always make a point of my being there for an NHRA event. In small communities especially the support of local business owners can make the difference when a dragstrip is imperiled and may be closed.

Depending upon what "rating" you want your hotels at... Motel 6 has a NHRA discount... So thats a benfit to think about, although I don't know how much that discount is...

I think the Motel 6 discount is 15%. It also works for other members of the Motel 6 family like Red Lion Inns. The Motel 6 website also has a race planner which is convenient. All the NHRA Powerade races are listed as well as other races in other series.

Been a Marriott Rewards member for years. You get a free nights stay for every 10,000 pts. So every ten nights at the Ontario Airport Marriott (for the two Pomona races) or at the Fedreral Way Courtyard (for the Seattle race) are on the house. Yeah, it`s a good deal!

I also use Marriott for all of my business and personal travel, so when I go to the races I use my reward points for the rooms.
