worst @$$ whippin' I ever got, I was thirteen, I came back with a reply to the 'jump off the bridge';
mom went to slap me (she was 5 foot on a good day, I was 6'1)... that's when I screwed up... I put my hand on her forehead to keep her out of reach...
picture being trapped in a 6 by 6 space with a pissed off lioness...
All dad ever said that evening was: "I bet you'll never do THAT again."

That whole "Stop crying or I'll really give you something to cry about", that one brings back memories, specific memories about a spark plug wire across my butt.
Thinking back on it, I was not abused, I deserved most of the licks I got, and even the licks I didn't deserve probably made up for some of the stuff my parents didn't know about.
