if he buys NHRA- what would stop him from switching us nationals to charlotte nc -.the track is state of the art . the two dates easy to switch . his playground - his rules!!!

Why would you switch venue? I couldn't give a crap about it being state of the art. Indy is what makes the U.S Nationals so special!!! I will say this and I think most on here would agree, the U.S Nationals at any other venue, just wouldn't be the US Nats.
IF....just IF Bruton bought NHRA he'd also get Indianapolis Raceway Park ! Do you think Bruton would leave the track as is ??? He would transform the place to a GRAND Show place ! But he'd end the damn grandstands at half track....:-(

Kinda' what I was thinking, John. Like Mike said, Indy is Indy because it's in.................well, Indy (Ok, Clermont). It's like Hallowed ground, man, even as beat up as it is getting.
It's pretty obvious by Bruton's other ventures that coin isn't really an object, so if SMI does purchase the NHRA, it would only make sense to transform the facility rather than transport the event.
IF.. Smith bought the NHRA.. and IF he thought it would make him extra cash.. he would try to move the race.. BUT.. if he thought it would hurt him with overall profits.. it won't move one bit...
And i believe he knows moving the US nationals would have a major back lash...
Drivers always say that winning Indy is the hight of their driving life. Not winning the Nationals .... winning Indy. So if anyone ever moved the Nationals .... would Indy still be the big prize ?
