And that was a really poor last round of F/C, except for Chad Green's outstanding 3.89. A big disappointment I'm sure for the fans that stayed thru all the delays.

Have we ever seen a similar poor round of Pro Stock, where just a few cars got down the track?

IMO they have figured out how to slow down the clutch timers and are hitting the limiter a little later keeping MPH up and it hasn't slowed ET's as much as they thought..

Waaaay back when in Seattle when a bunch PS drivers started a boycott. Don't remember if it was qualifying or eliminations or even the year. It's probably on Dave W's youtube channel. (Nhra Today)

no we cant. honestly watching the footage tony was right there by him
Not possible. Tony ran 4.03; Shawn, 3.72. Their reactions were .088 amd .086, respectively. Langdon had a substantial lead at the 60, 330, 660 and 1000 and Schumacher, who lost traction, shut off early and finished 107mph slower than Langdon. The only time they were right there by one another is when they were staged.

Perhaps you're thinking of a different race?

I'm at Sydnaey Dragway. It's 1:45 Sunday afternoon right now and I'm in the middle of the NDRC event here.

I have an alibi for whatever happened, I wasn't there and didn't do it. You ain't pinning this on me........

Crikey, mate !

That might be the wackiest round of Pro Stock I've ever seen and it has to be a record that 7 of the 8 advanced from the bottom half of the ladder.
Pedalfests in Pro Stock. What has the world come to?

I bet those races were pretty entertaining to watch, though.

It was eliminations & it was over track prep. WJ was very vocal about it and after a couple of pairs the P/S'ers pulled out of the lanes until NHRA addressed the problem.

I've attended over 200 National events and this one has to rank near the top for most weird. Friday all over the place, good and bad, including Langdon's 345. Saturday long rain delay, then no left lane except for Dallas Glenn, Sunday Pro Stock 7 of 8 winners were from bottom half of ladder. Then finals were all great races. Crew chiefs definitely were pulling their hair out all weekend.

Have a safe trip back 😎🙏

what was the crowd like over the weekend? hard to tell on sunday tv show.
for a smaller venue, it didn't look overly packed? 3.5 hour drive from atlanta. i doubt too many
make that drive for a day trip.

Didn't seem like a top tier event setting to me.

no it doesn't to me either, but neither does epping, and to a degree seattle.
i don't mind that not all the venues are spit polished and shiny. just have a good race with ample pit space and parking for
spectators, good bathrooms, and concessions. i think in most instances they will show up.
SGMP seems to cater more to northern FL than drawing atlanta folks south?

To me the stands looked packed on Sunday, with lots standing at the fences as well. They announced a sell-out but you know what that is worth.

To me the biggest issue with the facility was the sight lines. If you were on the pit side you could see the right lane after the cars passed you. The other side sight lines were better-only the left lane scoreboard was partially obscured. Issue was the light poles were too close to the stands. Have not had this issue at any other track.
