US Nationals 2025 (2 Viewers)

only (6) SS under -1.00 under after Q1 ...... (10) after Q2
(40) STK under or at -1.00 after Q2 ....... most of them parked right around the -1.00 under mark ...... (100) stockers at -0.900 or better after Q2. wow.
can't tell yet if the AFHS is effecting things. it seems like many are stepping off a little early. can't say for sure.
the air sure seems good there today. some of the 60' times are stellar

The Cruzzer's race week is off to a great start.

2nd track drying/prep of day. hopefully last. good thing you can run late @ indy.
looks like they got thru about 2/3 of STK C1 earlier this morning

there is a distinct difference between voice quality of b. lohnes vs. j. galvin.
galvin much easier to listen to. maybe its just lohnes mic is turned up too much?

i do too for sure. what i'm saying is during SS C1 brian's mic was turned up too much.
even as hemi cars started, herb came into booth and his mic was way lower volume than brian's.
technical stuff
Lohnes has to hear himself talk all the time,he needs to tone it down. I guess he thinks we wanna hear him over the cars. The cars were like 10% volume and he was like 90% i shut it off. Volume ruins it,id love to have nhratv but im not payimg for something thats crap and they know it is.

I was disappointed that I could barely hear the cars. Lohnes has a lot of knowledge and is good but please let's hear the the engines.

I don't think he is in charge of the volume mix we hear on dot TV, but yes, they do need to give us more car sound. I think when it's not the Pros and these are just the fixed cameras, it's a little more challenging.

Watched Class Eliminations yesterday. Some observations.
-I copied and pasted the Class qualifying from DRC into an Excel sheet in order to follow along properly. I know it's likely a logistical nightmare, but having the classes all scattered throughout was very confusing. Thankfully I had Ctrl+F to locate some, but really it was a challenge.
-Because they were scattered, even the announcers were confused, not able to say 100% "this is the final." In round 3, shortly after Jim Boudreau made his B/SA Semi-final single, the announcer (not sure who; not one of the touring regular) was calling the B/SA semi's the final. Maybe this is more a commentary on the announcers who should know the conditions they will have to work with and should be better prepared, but it all felt kind've willy nilly, where are my notes etc

Now - I am the hardest of hardcore NHRA fans, and even I had a challenge following all this. However, despite these criticisms, I really truly enjoyed watching the Class Elims, and will definitely incorporate it into my viewing schedule next year. I am already thinking I need to add round times into the spreadsheet. I am unsure if I could watch this in person and enjoy it, because I think I'd be flipping around a bunch of papers to try and keep track (because racing is more enjoyable when I know what's going on).
