US Nationals 2025 (5 Viewers)

Watched Class Eliminations yesterday. Some observations.
-I copied and pasted the Class qualifying from DRC into an Excel sheet in order to follow along properly. I know it's likely a logistical nightmare, but having the classes all scattered throughout was very confusing. Thankfully I had Ctrl+F to locate some, but really it was a challenge.
-Because they were scattered, even the announcers were confused, not able to say 100% "this is the final." In round 3, shortly after Jim Boudreau made his B/SA Semi-final single, the announcer (not sure who; not one of the touring regular) was calling the B/SA semi's the final. Maybe this is more a commentary on the announcers who should know the conditions they will have to work with and should be better prepared, but it all felt kind've willy nilly, where are my notes etc

Now - I am the hardest of hardcore NHRA fans, and even I had a challenge following all this. However, despite these criticisms, I really truly enjoyed watching the Class Elims, and will definitely incorporate it into my viewing schedule next year. I am already thinking I need to add round times into the spreadsheet. I am unsure if I could watch this in person and enjoy it, because I think I'd be flipping around a bunch of papers to try and keep track (because racing is more enjoyable when I know what's going on).

Just to help you out, you can always get the results, round by round, on www.DragRaceCentral.com for ALL of the qualifying and eliminations through out the race.

They will be posted shortly after the completion of that round, along with the bonus qualifying points for the Pro's.

Give it a try!

So here's the issue with that - they are in the RUN ORDER so each class is scattered all about. My excel sheet that was the COPY from the Drag Race Central Class Elims qualifying was much more useful, because it clumped the classes together in one group.

There's a trick to that, next year send me an email and I'll share the secret. [email protected]

WOW! Decell Comp Clash round one - SPECTACULAR! Must have been no permanent CIC for the event; reminds me of when they competed at the Doorslammer Nationals in Orlando. They were GOING for it! Very fun! Mitsos and Affronti survived unscathed from CIC! Glad they kept this event!

billy anderson, love your posts regarding class elims. i agree it's very difficult to follow along and know what round is up.
that being said, i enjoy when we have this awesome coverage online and at least attempt to figure it out.
when i've actually been at a race with class, i'm usually only concentrating on a handful of cars and classes related to racer friends.

sure saw a few brakes lights yesterday. i think only r. eakins exceeded -1.30 under?, but i did hear the tech barn is a busy place today.
heard one of the areas being looked at is the underside / mandated correct SFI approved trans shield/blanket.
heard at least one competitor was bounced but do not know for what infraction.

sure am enjoying the different camera angles today. been busy all morning and only started watching during TAFC.
joe costello is on the mic rite now and IMO his mic volume vs. car volume is great.
3 days of coverage has been awesome!!

You can rewind the feed if you wanted to go out and check out the Hemi cars round one. I love this feature! We pause to go do a quick chore, and then when it's an oildown, can fast fwd.
