Amen to that. My girlfriend walked in from another room and asked, "what's with that music?" It's now fed into the audio mix, not being picked up by the trackside mics. Big step backwards.
And again, Jason and Courtney feeling the need to comment on everything the other one says. It's like a competition with them.
Just talking constantly until the bottom bulb is lit. They miss a lot of action on the track, because they seem to be looking at their monitors, waiting for the chance to say "340 mph!". I'd like to hear what would happen if they took their stats away for one broadcast.
I'd never have thought I would be lowering the volume on a drag racing broadcast, but here we are. Just dreadful.
A few races back, the showed a clip of Hagen running the first 4 at a track, and I didn't realize there was an announcer until Bob Frey
said "and there it is" , or something like that. A real pro. Let those amazing machines do the talking.
Sorry, but when the cost of NHRA.TV keeps going up, seems the presentation quality is headed the opposite way.
