The track staff does not prep the track for National Events. NHRA and IHRA both have dedicated staff for nearly all parts of the National Events, including the prep team.

when prock ran 4.79 at bradenton, the track prep prior to that session was endless, plus the air and sun was down.
IMO ihra will have the best track possible at reading, without being excessive to the point of hurting tires

Not sure you got that ET for Prock correct, Mike. Austin Prock was running in the 3's at Bradenton during the PRO Superstar Shootout in Feb. 2024/2025 if that is what you are referring to, but I don't think he ran a 3.79 if that is what you meant.

Anyone know if IHRA will be running to 1000' at the Maple Grove race? I seem to recall them stating they may have a few tracks where they run to 1000' and maybe 1/4 mile for other classes. Or have I been smoking something?

woops, thanks for correction kurt. was a second off, then again, sometimes it seems like i'm a day off, so what's a second .
it was definitely 3.79 in the last qualifier friday night before racing on saturday. would have been early feb., 2025.
