ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. – As NHRA’s Full Throttle Drag Racing Series regular season reaches the halfway point this weekend with the SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, Tony Pedregon believes his Nitro Fish Funny Car team is ready to begin its drive into the top 10.
“We are hoping the work and effort we have invested will reflect in our qualifying position at Englishtown,” said Pedregon, who is 13th after seven events.
He does know his way to the winner’s circle at this venerable racing facility. He scored his first victory there in 2001, added a runner-up in 2007and won again in 2009.
“Englishtown is a fast race track,” he said. “It can take as much power as a Funny Car can make. It is time we pick up the pace.”
