I remember coming home from a day at the drags and drag racing my bike. It was a 12 speed, so I loved getting off the line hard, then shifting through the gears pushing it all the way to the finish.
But in everyone's youth, they have a bike crash story. And not just a little bike crash, but a major one, and mine happened on that day.
I musta been hitting third gear when I had a mechanical malfunction, my gears slipped and as I was standing on the pedal with all my weight leaning over the handle bars, and I was at speed, I slipped over the handlebars and landed face first, rolling a couple times before coming to a stop. This was before everyone wore helmets too.
It looked like I fell out of an airplane I had so many scrapes and bruises.
