The presentation may not have been great, but he is not off the mark. Darana does a lot of business with Musk and Amazon. The AI industry — including xAI — wants data centers. Amazon is building distribution centers. Politically, drag strips are not the most popular use of land. Distribution and data centers create more full-time jobs than data centers.
Owing land that could be easily cleared and used to build either one is not a bad thing.

Is he buying up all the tracks and rebuilding them because he thinks he is the one person who can turn a dragstrip into a thriving, very profitable business?
We have not seen anything "rebuilt" yet.
A drag strip GM once told me that the biggest determinant of whether or not a drag strip continues to operate is whether the or not the land is worth more than the drag racing business. IHRA can operate these drag strips and wait until there is a need for the land they sit on.

I suppose it's pretty dumb to put a ton of money into the closed dragstrips he bought then. Just let Memphis, Kansas, and Atlanta sit until this grand plan comes through.

before this dude's video. you can't deny the basic premise. that being said, right now we are all enjoying a cash infusion into the sport we all love.

I have said it multiple times also. He is a business man, he is buying assets that may make money, if they do not they will sell for more than he acquired them for.
He has XX dollars allotted to buy, rehab and run drag strips for 10 years. If it is a profitable business model he may continue to run them. If they are not making money in 10 years he sells them all off at a large profit.

here have been several articles that have stated the IHRA is fully funded for ten years with zero income.
Is there any source for that statement? I've seen it repeated several times, but never by a source in a position to know.

Paint is very eye catching, shows well with IHRA camera work. Very clean.
Multiple places on the web with tidbits are not authoritative sources. The closest I can find is this statement from Scott Woodruff: “Funding is not our issue. It's got to be the right people in the right place.” I have yet to see a 10-year financial commitment attributed to anyone in IHRA.
There is nothing in that story about IHRA's financial commitment.
