All I heard was, "My daddy has more money than your daddy!"

Looks to me like it was made for TV drama and should have discussed it amounst the two teams back at the trailers.

He's got all the talent in the world but such a punk. I'm all for trash talk but own up then when you make a mistake. He messed up, hoping out of the car and acting like he didn't know the procedure and that she was classless was a punk move. If he would have owned up then, no issue. Then to add the condescending sweetheart comment at the end, I was hoping she would have choked slammed him then.

His talent is so good and he has enough money behind him to be huge, I keep thinking he'll get it together. Sadly, like Yoda said, it appears the DB force is strong with this one. :)
Erica said it best, he's young, obviously acts as he was taught.

Back in Phoenix he stopped short right in the middle of the turn off with his chutes still in the middle of the turn. Alex Laughlin turned in right behind him and ran over the chutes, and it was on again. Tanner is a straight up punk. He was immediately Alex's face, "I didn't see you win Rookie of the Year, Ha Ha, I tree'd your azz". That kid has never shown one inclination of CLASS. How many times last year did he throw a temper tantrum on national TV after a run?

For all the people bashing Tanner please raise your hand if you didn't do anything stupid or immature when you were a teenager. I'll wait. :)
Think most of learned when we made a mistake and didnt keep pissing people off

See post 60, Boss. Wait no longer....... ;)

Enough is enough. You can give a couple of passes, but it's gone way beyond that and now all he's doing is cementing a legacy of being a spoiled little punk.

Do you have kids? Either way, how many passes do you give on behaving like a moron? Any more than a couple of times just sends the message that what they're doing is okay. And as I've said before, I find it hard to believe that the elder Gray's think his antics are acceptable at this level, which makes me wonder if it's not all a put-on.

Greg Anderson and his dad are good friends. Greg has been around Tanner since he was a kid.
Still a kid, and an arrogant punk at that. Instead of arguing with Erica he should have apologized profusely and considered his actions. But that's an adult thing.

I'm sure I did. But I wasn't on national TV, competing in a professional class, representing the NHRA and drag racing in general, and representing any sponsors. His parents should sit him down and tell him how things work in the real world. It's obvious that he is living in his own world.

He'd have to have someone other than his family explain how things work in the real world. In the real world, people have to earn money with an actual job starting from a young age. My kid's only slightly younger than Tanner and he works two jobs to keep a 17 year old car running. In the real world, you have to behave yourself at work and treat others with respect, whether you agree with them or not. In the real world, you can't get everything you want, and in lots of cases you can't even get what you really need. So until tanner meets someone who knows and has experienced these things, he'll continue to act as he does now. His family has had money for too long to know any different. Sorry if that offends anyone, but it's how I see it.

Of course I did. The only difference is there were repercussions for my actions. There never seem to be any for his.

Hard to believe, with all the great racing that occurred this weekend, that this topic is still the hot one.

Everyone was a punk teenager at some point who thought that they were right about everything. Tanner just needs to grow up. I applaud Erica for not knocking his lights out with the sweetheart comment. That is a one-way ticket to getting your butt kicked.

For all of you bitching and griping about Tanner........Yeah he may be a punk kid but weren't we all? Plus, how many of you are PROFESIONAL RACERS? Maybe you all are the ones that need to grow up???

Some of you on here are acting like the kid stole all of your lunch money for the whole month. I'm not even related to the kid but you are making me want to change my name before you lynch him up from the tallest tree. After I just thought of how I acted as a JR Einstein...maybe we are related.~:)~~:)~~:)~

Then you are in an elite group and should feel very fortunate. I could write a very thick book on the people "younger and older / men and women" I have seen throwing tantrums inside the racing community. Maybe that will be my retirement plan.:)
