Anyone else notice that the "Pro" class with the most entries at Charlotte is Pro Mod? 27 entries, Pro Stock a close second at 26...
Time for Glendora to start featuring the class more

You'd think the powers that be in Glendora would be a little more aware of the interest and start increasing the number of events that have Pro Mod.
The funny car guys I know, like them, and I know that I like them. I would love to see pro-mod get a full schedule. But that means nothing to nhra. What they look at is, not how many cars show up to race a class, but how many fans fill the seats to watch that class. So if you want that class to survive, then you had better plant your butts in the seats when they are running. Super gas and super comp are the two largest classes on the tour, and yet they are treated like second class citizens. And that is because the seats are empty when they run.Did you ever think that it is "PRO" that doesn't want another Pro category? The Pro Stock cars never wanted Pro Stock truck. I'm sure the AA/FC guys don't want Pro Mod either
I've only seen Pro Mod live one time..at the 2005 US Nationals...I wish they'd bring them to Brainerd...they remind me of the old funny car days..
I second the Brainerd wish. Last time I saw them was when Norwalk was IHRA back in 98. I LOVED that class. Its basically alcohol FC (another one of my fav classes) packed into a smaller car. Louder and faster then Pro Stock... for the millionth time, phase out PSB phase in PM full time!
Glendora, or Roger Burgess? You think these guys will pony up to run 23 events?![]()

I agree one hundred percent. Pro- mod is one of the most exciting classes out there. I for one hope it keeps growiing until it is a full time championship class. They shouldn't be treated like second class citizens, of course, but there's a mass exodus because these two classes, SuperComp in particular, are boring to the average fan. Two by two, dozens of big block Chevy, throttle-stopped dragsters run, every run the same, every car the same, every ET the same. WE know it's much more than that, but fans judge on what they see and head for the pits.
If NHRA Pro Mod doesn't survive, it won't be because the fans are bored.
